Cheap Energizer Titanium Batteries at Mejier

October 16, 2008 by Tara Kuczykowski Leave a Comment

I found a fab deal on these Energizer Titanium Batteries at Meijer last night when I was picking up my 10 for $10 Kellogg’s cereal!

They had 8-pks. clearanced at $3, and you can use this $1/1 printable coupon on them making them only $2 per package. These are the longer-lasting high-tech batteries for use in high-powered devices, so I’m sure these will come in handy for things like digital cameras and video cameras with the upcoming holidays!

Blog Action Day Results Are In

October 16, 2008 by Tara Kuczykowski

A big thank you to all of you that participated in Blog Action Day to raise awareness of poverty! And a special thank you goes to my six wonderful friends and readers that donated hard-earned cash out of their own pockets to support this cause:

  • Erica at Fishbowl Sense
  • Aimee of Mazer Design (She did my awesome blog banner and badge!)
  • Monica of Mommy Brain Reports
  • Lori of A Cowboy’s Wife
  • Colleen of Classy Mommy
  • and Courtney of Homemaker Hero

I encourage you all to take a moment to click over to their blogs today and take a look around!

Now for the results . . . Deal Seeking Mom readers raised $32.40 through my freebies affiliate post yesterday.  And an additional $23 was raised through the generous donations of the ladies mentioned above which I will be matching out of my own pocket.  Of course, as I mentioned before Walmart is matching all of the proceeds.

So all together Deal Seeking Mom will be contributing $156.80 to Project Peanut Butter! Thanks again. Together we can change the world!

Wow: 5 More New High Dollar Coupons from Kellogg’s

October 15, 2008 by Tara Kuczykowski 25 Comments

The agony of choice...

Like I mentioned previously, $1/1 Kellogg’s coupons like these don’t come along every day! Now there are a total of 8 high-dollar coupons available.

Print yours from Coupons.com before they’re gone! You can also print them from the teal quick print widget on the right sidebar.

These are the currently available Kellogg’s coupons on Coupons.com:

  • (5) $1/1 Kellogg’s Cereal (10-oz.+) any flavor (expires 30 days from print)
  • (3) $1/1 Frosted Mini-Wheats Strawberry Delight, Blueberry Muffin, or Maple Brown Sugar (expires 7/1/2009!!!)

Also available on RiceKrispies.com:

  • $1/1 Kellogg’s Rice Krispies with Real Strawberries (expires 11/30/08)

Thanks to Marcy at Stretching a Buck for letting me know that Kellogg’s cereal is on sale this week at Meijer for $2 a box! Print your coupons and go snag yourself 18 boxes of cereal for $18 10 boxes of cereal for $10 (Mini-Wheats and Strawberry Rice Krispies not included in sale)!!! (Each coupon can be printed twice.)

And thanks to Briana at Bargain Briana for adding that you can use this printable form to submit for a full rebate on your purchase of Kellogg’s Smart Start Strawberry Oat Bites!

Wow, I can hardly keep up with all of your awesome comments on deals to be had with these. Be sure to read Lisa’s comment below about the super moneymaker at Publix!

Don’t forget to mark your calendars for November 9th! At our delicious Kellogg’s-hosted breakfast last Friday, the ElevenMoms learned that there are going to be several high-dollar Kellogg’s coupons in the inserts that day!!!

Other fascinating Kellogg’s facts we learned:

  • A serving of Kellogg’s cereal costs less than $0.50 a bowl including milk.
  • Kellogg’s no longer markets high-sugar cereals to children in an effort to fight childhood obesity.
  • Along the same lines, Kellogg’s also recently reduced the sugar content in many of their top cereals.

I hope you’ll all join me in saying thanks to Kellogg’s for helping us moms provide our kids with a healthy breakfast (or sometimes lunch *blush*) at a reasonable price!!!

Blog Action Day: Doing My Part to End Poverty and How You Can Help

October 15, 2008 by Tara Kuczykowski

The sad but true fact is that over half the world’s population, a staggering three billion-plus people, live in poverty. However, the good news is that while this is a complex issue, we can end this within our lifetimes if we work together!

Today, Wednesday, October 15th, is Blog Action Day. Blog Action Day is an annual nonprofit event that aims to unite the world’s bloggers, podcasters, and videocasters to post about the same issue on the same day. This year’s Blog Action Day is drawing attention to poverty and giving the blogging community a platform to have our voices heard on this issue.

I’m proud to let you know that I will be donating all proceeds earned from affiliate links today on Deal Seeking Mom to Project Peanut Butter, a worthy cause that provides malnourished children in Malawi and Sierra Leone with a ready-to-use therapeutic food made from peanuts.  This fascinating program has been shown to result in up to a 95% recovery rate for participating children.

Several of the Elevenmoms have challenged ourselves to raise at least $50 for this cause. If I raise less, I will cover the difference out of my own pocket. If I raise more, it will all be donated. Not only that but Walmart has generously agreed to match every dollar that the Elevenmoms raise today!

So how can you help? Check out my special freebies roundup post that is comprised of current freebies offered through sites that I am affiliated with. Every freebie you sign up will generate affiliate earnings that will be donated to Project Peanut Butter.

Let’s work together to end poverty now!

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
