The sad but true fact is that over half the world’s population, a staggering three billion-plus people, live in poverty. However, the good news is that while this is a complex issue, we can end this within our lifetimes if we work together!
Today, Wednesday, October 15th, is Blog Action Day. Blog Action Day is an annual nonprofit event that aims to unite the world’s bloggers, podcasters, and videocasters to post about the same issue on the same day. This year’s Blog Action Day is drawing attention to poverty and giving the blogging community a platform to have our voices heard on this issue.
I’m proud to let you know that I will be donating all proceeds earned from affiliate links today on Deal Seeking Mom to Project Peanut Butter, a worthy cause that provides malnourished children in Malawi and Sierra Leone with a ready-to-use therapeutic food made from peanuts. This fascinating program has been shown to result in up to a 95% recovery rate for participating children.
Several of the Elevenmoms have challenged ourselves to raise at least $50 for this cause. If I raise less, I will cover the difference out of my own pocket. If I raise more, it will all be donated. Not only that but Walmart has generously agreed to match every dollar that the Elevenmoms raise today!
So how can you help? Check out my special freebies roundup post that is comprised of current freebies offered through sites that I am affiliated with. Every freebie you sign up will generate affiliate earnings that will be donated to Project Peanut Butter.
Let’s work together to end poverty now!

Oh this sounds great! I will put a plug up on my blog for you. I think it’s neat that Wal-Mart is going to match the funds raised also. Good job to all 11 moms for setting that up!
