    We love finding farms that have picking days available. Nothing beats a carton of fresh strawberries on a sunny day!

    We live 10 miles from the beach and go there 3 or 4 times a week. It is always different people there and the kids always have fun

    We were also just given a year membership to a wonderful place called brookgreen gardens. the kids love that it has animals, flowers, interactive exibits and it is just fun

    We go to our neighborhood swimming pool – fun, frugal, keeps us cool and keeps the kids occupied!

    I like to take my nephews to the free parks and playgrounds. Also, there are many small municipalities around here that do free family events – if you pay attention to the listings in our paper, there’s something at least twice a month that you can do for free in the summer (festivals, picnics, etc).

    I have fuound some cheap activities to do for my kids from books. This summer we are making fake geodes, among other things.

    If you can find coupons or get it pre season on a season ticket for a discount for a water park locally it can actually be a very affordable way to spend your summer – we buy our season passes for Monday to Friday admission in December and if we only visit the water park three times in the summer it will pay for the season pass!

    I love taking advantage of all the local pools and splash grounds our county has to offer. Most of them are MUCH less than what the bigger water parks charge and the kids still have a blast. We also bring our own food and have a healthy picnic after all the swimming.

    We love the summer….free concerts at the park, going to the zoo, playing in the water table outside, having a “car wash” and washing our toy cars, free morning movies at Regal Cinemas, building sand castles, growing flowers, and the list goes on and on…=)

    We spend as much time as possible with our daughter outside. Her favorite activities include, swimming in her pool and playing with playdough on her picnic table. It’s neat to watch her play playdough outside, she can be as creative and messy as she wants to be.
