Our family loves to run in the sprinkler, have water balloon fights and then relax with a movie in the air conditioning afterwards!

We go to the beach, or play in the sprinkler at home. My in-laws gave the kids one of those inflatable water slides last year, so that keeps them busy.
The library also has fun (free!) activities all summer long.
And we usually do the dollar movies once a week… when we wake up early enough!

Now that my daughter is a little older, we are going to get a pool. She likes sprinklers and baby pools, but she’s afraid of getting hurt.

WE have a bike path in our neighborhood. Walking or riding are free. Pack a lunch and walk down to the park

My family likes to play at the splash park or squirt each other with water guns.

My favorite frugal summer activity is lighting the torches in our back yard and inviting some friends over. The kids play, and the parents can sit back and relax.

We meet up with friend at our local splash pad and let the kids run around in the water and then have a picnic under the trees. Thanks :)

My son is only 15 months, but our favorite thing to do is go to a big playdate in the park every Wednesday. It doesn’t cost anything and he has a blast playing on the playground with the other kids. If any of you live anywhere close to the East Cobb Park in Marietta, GA–you should definitely bring your kids for live music and lots of fun.

We’re lucky enough to have a beautiful beach to go to. Just bring sunscreen, a lot of liquids, and non-sticky snacks and you got yourself a day at the beach!
carol
We play in the blow up pool or go next door to swin at the neighbor’s house. We make popsicles and slushy drinks and color and go to the park or go for walks. We meet Daddy for lunch for a picnic during the work day.

We enjoy making pops out of different kool aid flavors or making ice cube necklaces, they really cool you off and are SOOO cheap.

We go to the library for free programs and activities. We also do free activities and programs at the park. Earlier today we went to the library and learned about creepy, crawly bugs.

Enrolling the kids in the summer reading program at the library is awesome. There’s weekly trips to the library, lots of reading, and weekly activities.

To keep cool in the summer, we’ve been drinking healthy smoothies almost daily! Just freeze bananas, strawberries, or buy frozen ones from Costco, and add any kind of juice. Add yogurt or more bananas for a smoother texture. Kids think it’s a sweet treat! We live in a condo, so we also like to get the water table out to the balcony or write on the ground with the new 3-D sidewalk chalk.
