    We definitely love swimming. Living in the Deep South, that’s about the only thing there is to do here to beat the heat!

    This summer will be my first with my 7 month old daughter so I plan on getting a small blow up pool and squirt toys having a “pool party” with her and our 2 mini doxies!

    My fun and frugal activity for the summer is spending a day at the beach and/or playing basketball at an outdoor court! I love that the sun is free! :)

    We go swimming , at the pool, at the lake , in the river… if there is water my kids are in it

    I buy summer clearance toys at the end of summer/fall and save them for the next summer. We also plant a small garden and the kids love digging for worms and watering their plants.

    We like to go to sonic and get the $1 sundaes and then go to the park with them and a kite. It really makes for a nice afternoon.

    My kids like making their own homemade popsicles by pouring juice into Dixie cups and putting in old Popsicle sticks.

    After my husband has a hard day at work, before dinner, we sit out front under the trees, and enjoy the cool breeze (when there is one)…him with a beer in hand:)

    My husband is in the Army so we go to the pool and splash park on post for free. My daughter also does the reading reward programs through different stores to earn free books.

    We use lots of sunscreen and wear our sun hats while my little daughter plays with sidewalk chalk and bubbles. We even use the sandbox for her to keep water in for her to splash around.

    We geocache! It’s taken us to some beautiful places we wouldn’t have found, and we go for ones in the forest on hotter days to take advantage of the shade.

    Our children are still small, but our two year old loves to cool off with the squirt gun or get his toes wet at the lake. We just got back from vacation and he keeps sitting on the suitcase saying, “Jetski!”

    When it gets warm out, my kids love nothing better than going to the neighborhood pool. We spend lots of time there.

    at the park.Luckily minnesota has some great parks and even after living here for 5 yrs, we have not seen so many.

    We live 20 miles from the lake. So we take the kids and just play in the water. Sometimes we picnic also. The kids love it!!

    We love splash pads at neighborhood parks. On hot days, my kids absolutely love running through all the crazy spouts & sprinklers. Throw together a picnic lunch to bring along & it’s a nice (& inexpensive) way to spend a hot afternoon!
