Soulful Giveaway: Win Seal’s Latest CD Soul

December 17, 2008 by Tara Kuczykowski

seal_soul_albumThe hustle and bustle of the holiday season has really been taking its toll lately.

As you can imagine, I don’t get a whole lot of “me” time as a mom of five, so I’ve learned to work in short bursts of relaxation when I can throughout the day to prevent myself from being overwhelmed by everything.

One of my favorite methods for relaxation lately is just taking a few minutes to listen to Seal’s latest CD, Soul. I close my eyes and just become one with the music, and after about 15 minutes I’ve regained most of my sanity and am ready to tackle life head on again.

Soul features eleven classic soul songs, and I truly feel like there’s something here for everyone. If you’d like to hear a taste, just check out the widget in my sidebar!

One lucky Deal Seeking Mom reader will win a copy of Soul so he or she can kick back and relax a little, and as an added bonus, you’ll receive these great little Lego iPod speakers from Delight.com.
(I’m so jealous of these – I think they’re just adorable!)

Delight features eco-friendly tote bags, gadgets for guys, kitchen gear that is smart and saves time, travel essentials, one-of-a-kind baby gifts, stocking stuffers for holiday gift shopping and unique jewelry and décor accessories with most under $50.

So tell me how do you unwind after a rough day? Can you tell when you haven’t been taking enough time for yourself? How have your learned to make time? I know I struggle with this, so I would assume a lot of you do as well, and I’m looking forward to you sharing your tips.

Methods of entry:

1. Leave a comment. Share your tips on how to unwind and relax when you’ve had a difficult day.

2. Add Deal Seeking Mom to your blogroll or add my badge to your sidebar. I’ve got some surprises in store during the month of January for readers that help me spread the word about Deal Seeking Mom!  Get a head start by adding my site to your blogroll or my badge to your sidebar now.  Make sure to come back and leave the link to your site in a separate comment!

My current favorite way to relax is to put on my Fireplace Christmas DVD (you know, the DVD of a crackling fire with Christmas piano music playing) and flip through a magazine or read a book. That DVD even works on my rambunctious nieces & nephews!

Crocheting – I just learned and I am 31 years old, at first I felt like an old lady but everyone including the teenagers think it’s cool and want me to crochet them a hat or scraf. I usually put on a repeat show I like and listen to it and crochet. Oh and the most important part, I change into my sweats. My little puppy Chloe climbs on the couch and curls up besides me. And my husband usually leaves me alone to when I am crocheting. I am also a hot bath kinda gal.

My mother LOVES SEAL! And she has been wanting the new CD.

Hot bubble bath, glass of wine and if I can’t do these , I cuddle up in a huge blanket and close my eyes with music playing in my ears.

I unwind during the late afternoon. I became addicted to General Hospital when I was pregnant with my son. I normally try to complete my work by that time of the afternoon, have my son down for his nap and I eat lunch and normally a sweet treat while watching GH. It’s just me time.

Just coming home and changing into my comfortable clothes takes me half way there. Putting on my iPod shuffle and listening to good music and fixing myself something to eat and drink usually takes me the rest of the way there.

When I’ve had a rough day, I spend a couple of hours alone. I play on my computer and then watch Regis and the View, which have both been Tivo’d. Thanks for the giveaway!

I love to sit on the couch and read. If I can’t do that though, even music in the background of my activity is vital to me.

I put on my Donny Osmond Christmas CD (I know it’s corny!) very LOUD and just laugh, dance and clean the house – it’s a riot.

I make sure to set aside at least30 minutes for myself every night. This keeps me in a good mood which in resault everyone else in a good mood. During this 30 minutes I do what ever I want sometimes I take a bath sometimes I paint my toes. It doesn’t really matter what I’m doing it just matters that I have 30 minutes to myself to unwind.

Oh, wow, Seal is amazing! To relax, I usually get myself a hot cup of coffee or chai tea, grab a good book, turn on some very low, very soulful music, and read for a bit. What a great way to rejuvenate and refresh.

thank you so much for sharing

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
