Rite Aid wants your prescriptions and is willing to pay you up to $50 in Rite Aid gift cards to transfer them!
Use this Rite Aid prescription transfer coupon to get a $25 Rite Aid gift card, up to two gift cards for a total of $50. These are good through January 31st, 2009.
If Rite Aid isn’t your usual store, consider trying to use this at your local CVS or Walgreens. Often they will accept competitor coupons, and they may even let you use it on a current prescription to prevent you from taking your business elsewhere. It never hurts to try!
Susan
Wish I could do this, but I transferred a script to Walgreens from RA to get the gc from Wags. The fine print says you can’t transfer back to RA to get gc.

You guys are truley sad. I work for CVS in the Pharmacy and we cant stand you people and your gift cards. You are trying to scam the system and its rediculous. We keep note of when you get gift cards and your only allowed one every 6 months. We know that you are transfering you scripts just to get the gift card so expect us to NOT want your business. We make fun of you when you leave! Sorry to be so mean but its the truth. You should really use them how they were intended to be used.
Paul
Who cares if you don’t like us for saving money? Who cares if you talk about us when we leave? We are leaving with $25 of your companies money, so the laughs on you. If you don’t want people to do it then don’t offer it.
Jennifer
You must be really really young and immature to say any of that. I’ve known a couple people that did it to get the gift card for toilet paper, baby food..The point is..they were poor. No one is trying the “scam” the people at the drug store. It is actually a “ploy” by the drug store to get you to come in and spend money there. I’m sure if CVS knew you were making fun of their customers and knew you couldn’t “stand” them, you would NOT have a job. The company wants business from anyone they can get it from, so don’t kid yourself into thinking people really care what you or your coworkers think. You are a very angry, unhappy person who shouldn’t even open their mouth since nothing good comes out. Good luck in life, you’ll need it.
Di
I’m sure you could use $25 seeing that you work at CVS. You laugh at us and we are laughing at your spelling. If you are going to bother to post and are that dumb, use spell check dude!
Deal Seeking Mom
Jess, I think your comments are unwarranted. These companies know that people are only transferring their prescriptions to get the gift cards. It’s been a marketing technique used throughout history to get customers in the stores and one that works well. After the customers are in the store, the trick is to keep them coming back. I’m sure they won’t be returning to your store if they find out you’re poking fun at them.

I am not sure if it in this weeks flyer, but every week for at least the past 3 months or more there is a coupon in the Rite Aid flyer for a $30 GC for transfered prescriptions. I asked at Walgreens near me and they would not accept it but CVS does.
In response to Jess’s comment. Do you have any idea of how much money CVS profits from the prescriptions??? There is a reason they are trying to get your business and they are able to freely able give out $25 GC.

Jess,
You should be fired for having a poor attitude toward the people whom you are supposed to serve. Your company pays you to act in their interests and I suggest that you do just that. They have determined that giving the cards out is a good business decision, so who are you to question the motivations of the customers? The answer is, obviously, someone who has absolutely no business in the field of customer service.
tyler
jess,
what makes you believe that it is one pharmacy’s “right” to continue to fill a prescription month after month? each is a separate transaction just like buying a jug of milk. if i want to pick it up somewhere else it’s well within my ability to do so.
Jess
well since everyone took what i said to heart I’ll try and explain myself a little better. We are obviously a very busy pharmacy and yes you are all right in saying that is a good way to get the customer in the store and kepp them there. What you dont realize obviously is that there are so many people who transfer their prescriptions ALL of the time. When someone transfers a prescription its not an easy thing. It takes the pharmacist time to get the info from the other pharmacy and then we have to put it in the computer and fill it. It takes around 15 minutes to do the whole process. When you have people who are constantly transferring scripts just for the gift card with every intention on just transferring it some where else to get their gift card it gets really annoying. Not to mention that it is store policy that you are only allowed 1 a month. that is not my policy so to Tyler who clearly didnt look into anything i said it is something that the pharmacy documents to control how many gift cards you are getting. If you think for ONE second that i am the only cvs employee that thinks like that or feels that way than you are wrong. CVS employees would never disrespect a customer but we are able to turn you down for a gift card if you have already used many of them. Another thing i dont understand is that you all got angry at my opinion and the other side of the things but i am simply trying to be honest. I have customers that ONLY get transferred scripts. They have gotten tons of money from cvs and still continue to go to other pharmacies to do the same thing. That is absolutely a waste of my time and the pharmacist. so before you go jumpin down my throat try to understand what i am saying. dont be that customer.
Jess
and another thing…you say I should be fired? For what having an opinion? It takes the time away from the people who are truely sick and need our attention. I have sick children coming in with meds to manage chemo treatment. I have elderly people very sick. You have no idea how much I do for my patients. I have drove an hour away on my own time with my own car with my own gas to pick up and drop off meds to people. I have spent countless hours on the phone with insurance companies and doctors offices trying to help people. so dont get confused with me not being a good emplyee. I am being honest and I am entitled to my opinion. Just as all you are when you talk about how your gonna get gift cards.
Tyler
Jess,
Sorry it takes extra time for you to do your job when I use a coupon I am entitled to by company policy. Guess I’ll make sure to only use my extracare rewards to get the gc only when convenient for pharmacy employees. Silly corporate people who thought such a system would be a good idea to attract/retain customers. As for “just transferring all the time”, simply make it that a customer can’t transfer the SAME script to another pharmacy and then back and get a GC when it returns to CVS.

Jess’s opinion is strictly that her opinion. I work in Management at CVS and would love to find out what store she (works at ) represents. With the current economy and the job market at it lowest, she would definitely be looking for a job….. JESS FIND A BETTER WAY TO REPRESENT CVS….YOU’RE GETTING PAID TO DO A JOB… JUST DO IT….
Deb
Jess – You say people take away from people who are really sick and needs their prescriptions. Don’t you think the people that are getting their prescriptions filled are sick too. I have a friend that has a prescription that has to be filled every month, has insurance and it still cost $158.00 from CVS. Now would you want to pay that every month. Yeah people do it because they need to save their money. You must have an abundance of it and can afford whatever but most people can’t. You need to get a clue.

Hi Jess,
You should really learn how to spell if you are acting as the spokesperson for CVS. Come on, are you 16 or 17 years old?
Monica
Poor Jess. Despite the economy being in the crapper, she’s probably not making a lot of money working at CVS, so cut her a little slack, ok? I must say that her coupon repulsion is a little odd, considering that she’s on a coupon website. I would like to say that I do the prescription transfer thing too, and the thing is… if the companies are willing to create a lot of extra cost/time intensive work for their employees to do, and they have found that they are still making money out of the deal, then more power to them (everyone benefits, except poor Jess, unfortunately). So, Jess, I say you write a letter to corporate and implore them to make this transfer process more efficient for their loyal employees. And by the way, Grammar God, I’m pretty sure that most of those spelling errors in her last message were fury-induced typos.

Well, I will get gift cards from Walgreens and Rite Aid. Don’t worry Jesse, I only used one gift card at CVS and I have not been back – gift card or not. I could not understand the pharmacist. After asking him the same question 3 times, I gave up. His assistant, who could also barely speak English, just kept staring at me while I was trying to ask a question about the medication. That was the last gift card from CVS. This particular store was in Taylor, MI.

Well I’m sorry to hear that happend to you. I know that some stores are not great. On the other hand there are a lot of CVS Pharmacy’s that are great and go above and beyond for their patients. The store I work for is one of those stores. We value our customers. I hope the next time you chose to go to another CVS and that your experience is better. You could have went to a walgreens and that could have happend. Every company has their downfalls. Good luck next time.
Jess
You guys really take things to heart. I’m still trying to figure out why you care what I have to say? Why would you let someones opinion make you so angry? I don’t think its a bad idea for the coupons. I was just trying to say that there are people that do it ALL the time. You know nothing about me. So insult me by saying “poor Jess you probably dont make a lot of money at CVS” is really just un called for. I support my 4 year old son with my income. I am not 17 years old. I wrote that as my opinion. I wrote it months ago and its still causing a huge thing. Move on already. You clearly misunderstood what I said and what I was trying to say. So I appolagize for upsetting anyone. I appolagize for the poor wording I used to explain myself. I will not appolagize for having an opinion though. This by no means is a representaion of cvs. I would never disrespect a patient. I just want you all to end this rediculous disagreement. I have nothing left to say other than an appolagy for upsetting anyone. I am in no way shape or form a spokesperson for cvs. I’m sure at your jobs you have tons of things that bother you. So once again I’m sorry.

I was really suprised by the comment left by Jess. I can’t believe someone would laugh and make fun of someone else for saving money and redeeming coupons that entitles a consumer for receiving a gift card for transferring a prescription. If corporate did not want people to use them, they why would they issue them? Like a previous poster said, it is just a marketing ploy to get people in. They know you’re coming for the free gift card and their hoping that while waiting on your prescription, you will do some shopping and spend some money in their store. I just feel it is in bad taste and very mean spirited to poke fun of others after they leave. They are just trying to save money, not manipulating the system. I hope that whatever has apparently made you such a mean spirited and bitter person is resolved in your life.

“We know that you are transfering you scripts just to get the gift card so expect us to NOT want your business. We make fun of you when you leave!”
Jess, you should be fired for this. Better yet, quit and give it to one of the thousands of unemployed Americans who would love to have your job. I promise you there are lots of people out there who would not have such a bad attitude about this job and would never disgrace CVS this way. I must say that I am VERY ASHAMED of you, since I also work for CVS and ask you to appologize to everyone here for your ignorance, disrespect for customers and blatant disregard for CVS policies.

Jess – it takes 15 min for doing that – but we keep you in business , and your have job .My insurance company , pays a lot for drugs -around 1000$.So i spend more then gift card in CVS too .I we pay your salary .Your are in retail and have to understand this ….
CVS Rep
Jess – You are truly not a nice person. Please stop posting your “opinions” about customers and CVS policy. I work for CVS in Woonsocket. It seems that you are forgetting that the “C” in our company name stands for “Consumer”.
Jess
You guys truely need to find someting else to do. I appolagized like a month ago. It’s over and done with. Why am I still getting emails saying that there is STILL people posting comments like “please stop posting your “opinions” about customers and CVS policy.” I mean seriously I haven’t put a comment on here in a month. Not to mention that when I did, I said sorry. So your telling me to say sorry and all but I already did. YOUR RIGHT, Ok? I was wrong. I appolagized. You must be so bored if you are still writing stuff about it. WOW. OK then. Here we go one last time I AM SORRY. I TAKE BACK WHAT I SAID. I AM SORRY, I WAS WRONG. I AM SORRY THAT I OFFENDED YOU. I AM SORRY, I AM SORRY, I AM SORRY. Either take the appolagy because I was being sencire or just let it go. Thanks for being so forgiving. That’s nice.
Jen
Seriously, everyone should let this go. Jess apologized. She’s not a mean and bitter person; everyone complains about their job sometimes. True, this may not have been an appropriate forum for it, but she did apologize–many times. Everyone is right about this topic in some regard. Some people use the coupons to manipulate the system, some people just want to save money, some people NEED to save money. Everyone DOES benefit in the end, and so what if one employee finds this particular aspect of a job annoying. I would too–it wouldn’t make me a bad person or hate the job. I teach kids and some times I want to wring their necks…but most of the time I love them! This is a silly disagreement. Jess, I judged you at first, but after reading all the posts, I understand your point. :)

Jess,
Who cares if you guys are laughing or not. You are not Mr. CVS nor are you a Board member. You are the big laugh, because you can’t do anything about it, but to accept it as “YOU” are told to. I don’t have a prescription to fill, but the economy is so bad that everyone’s trying to get over. Since you work at CVS, and don’t need any handouts, KUDO’s to you.
ben
Jess, as a fellow pharmacy tech I’m embarrased by your antics. We are trying to become more professional and gain respect for our field and people such as yourself are the ones holding us back. You need to realize that patients typically don’t care what pharmacy fills their prescriptions. They only care about what saves them the most money. With the monthly cost of these prescriptions, I don’t blame them. If we had sales on certain meds every week like coke and pepsi you’d see people transferring all over the place. THEY ARE ENTITLED TO DO SO, in most cases. We all shop around and find the best bang for the buck. Oh, and transferring a script can take 2 minutes and another 2 minutes to fill if you count the actual time spent dealing with that prescription. Actually, its probably less than that.
Minnie Mouse
First of all, thanks to the poor service that I received at your CVS Store located ….. and ….. in ….., I will be transferring all of my prescriptions over to either Rite Aid or Walgreens from here on out. After your CVS so called manager called me a liar twice in regards to my returning a jacked up phone to their store when I finally found my receipt for it, treated me biasly. I knew she would not honor her word seeing that she was talking out of both sides of her mouth, the two time I came in trying to return that stupid phone, claiming that if I found my receipt that I would get a full refund instead of a in store credit because I had already been in there twice trying to exchange the phone, so I guess she figured that this African American, yeah that’s right, black person came into her store trying to get another phone, she took it upon herself to become judge and jury on what she thought was happening.
So, when I brought in the phone the third time, and it wasn’t found in the system, the manager accused me of having the wrong receipt. I explained to the manager that this is the receipt that I received along with several other purchases on the bill, and this manager continued to undermine what I was saying. She outright stated in front of many customers and loudly, this can’t be the right receipt because if it was then it would ring up or something to that effect. She claimed her boss told her that I could only get an in-store credit. She was and still is a liar because when I asked to speak to her boss, now all of a sudden he is not there. Right! She accused me of trying to bring in merchandise that I didn’t buy from CVS. After it was all said and done, I left out of there with a lousy gift card and not for the full purchase price of the phone.
I filed a complaint with CVS Headquarters and spoke to their representative, mind you at the CEO office and it was serious business. I told that manager that I will not spend another cent in their store and will be transferring my scripts somewhere else. I may go to Meijer now that i think about it because they give certain antibiotics free.
The Rep. found the receipt on the day it was purchased and asked me why she didn’t give me the full refund of the phone and I told her why. The Rep stated that the receipt says phone cable because it was a land phone and not a cordless phone like I tried to tell the manager and cashier. That manager is not only rude, but ignorant to boot. I told the rep. that I wanted a verbal apology in the open just like the manager tried to embarrass me in front of customers and I wanted my other six dollars to boot. In fact, I don’t want the stinking gift card I want cash for cash, cause like I said, I am not going to spend another penny in their store, let alone waste my time in their either.
I am awaiting that call from the regional manager and if I don’t get it in two days which will be tomorrow, I will be sure to call the CEO of CVS first thing Monday morning and make a big stink about it, being CVS take pride in “Customer Service”. Like I told the rep. that CVS will not get another penny from me. Even the Pharmacist offered to give me the difference, but I said, hell no, CVS is going to give me back my money. My motto is simply put, if you can’t respect me then you can’t respect my money. You all know, money talks and bull-doo-doo walks, lol.
Anyway, after being a loyal customer of CVS since they changed the name from Arbor Drugs, (which I liked that store over Rite Aid that used to be Perry Drugstore) I decided to stay, I deserved better customer service than this, but now I am mad as hell-o and its going to be a change in where I spend my money paying for all of those God forsaken scripts. Every time my children came to CVS with me I always ended up spending more money than I’d expect to. If CVS want my business they better offer me a $100.00 money gram money order, you know what I mean? I will take the cash and keep on walking until the time that I can switch my scripts somewhere else.
I don’t blame anyone who want to switch using a coupon, because I am on the prowl looking for one myself and if I can find it I am definitely going to use it. Anyways forget that Jess person, evidentially she or he is a CVS LOSER!!
I tell you that manager look more like a man than a woman or rather a He_Man! I think she is prejudice. Sadly that’s how a lot of peeps are today even if these closet racist don’t want to admit it, you can see the hatred in their faces and the hatred in their voices, but hey if she is a dike and lord knows she look like one, maybe she have tasted the harshness of prejudice, but hey I didn’t rain down on her evidentially not so good day, so why did she have to act like the azz he-she obviously is?
I would have given you all the exact location, but hey I don’t want to get sued, because of the long lines to see this thingy at CVS…makes you wonder what sex this person is, because I tell you it is hard to tell. You all remember the comedy show, “Saturday Night Live” when they had this person name Pat and nobody could tell if it was a man or a woman, well this manager sort of look like a Pat, is it man, woman or beast….I like to say the latter, a BEAST eating roast BEAST, lol, lol, lol Whoooo wheeee! I am having a rolling good time here, I tell you. Anyway on the real side, forget those LOSERS at CVS and get as many “free” coupons you can, hell you’re not stealing and nobody is making these people offer these coupons to try and sway you decision to change pharmacies. I loved the pharmacist staff at CVS, but hey I gotta go…all I can say is Cya cause I wouldn’t want to Bya!
Bye all and take care, lol!!!
Coupon lover
Jess,
“We know that you are transferring you scripts just to get the gift card so expect us to NOT want your business. We make fun of you when you leave!”
Frankly, I think your comments were really rude and hurtful. As a coupon user, I don’t accept your apology. You make fun of the people who actually hand you the paycheck? Your behavior is unacceptable and you sound like a loser to me. Why the hell does it take you 15 minutes to do all that when both of my siblings who work at the drug store said it is a two minutes job? The pharmacist does not even do a thing – only tech does. Are you mentally retarded? Why don’t you take some times to think before you say and take couple minutes do the spelling check before you submit a paragraph?
Minnie Mouse,
I don’t think it’s about your skin color. It’s all about the customer service. The pharmacists are usually look down on their customers especially when you are not dress up – well, it happened to me when I didn’t dress up. Why do I have to dress up when I go to the drug store and get some medicine?
Lor
Hi Jess,
Where are you? I miss your ridiculous comments (that’s how you spell it), insincere apologies (that’s how you spell it) and grave misspellings. Did you graduate high school? I laugh at you after each comment that you have made and I got $50 bucks out of the deal. Laugh at me all you want, my dear. You have proven yourself to be the stupid one….please post more! I need a good laugh!!
Karin
Jess,
I was just looking for a transfer coupon when I stumbled upon these blogs. Funny enough heading to CVS to transfer my prescriptions from Rite-Aid simply because in the past month Rite-Aid has made 3 mistakes on my prescriptions. After reading what you wrote I won’t be taking my coupon with me. It seems that your apology was just a way to possibly save your job.
I sincerely hope for your sake that your kidneys never fail and you are required to take 19 pills a day to keep your transplanted kidney alive. The cost of these prescriptions is thousands of dollars a year of which I don’t have, along with the job I was not able to work at because of kidney failure. So, count your blessings, feed your 4 year old a good meal (I’m not sure how I am feeding my kids dinner tonight) and let those of us who need and deserve a $25 gift card get them without feeling disgraced.

TO THE DUMB LADY WHO MAKES FUN OF THE CUSTOMERS WHO USE COUPONS, GO SCREW YOURSELF- HAVE U SEEN HOW MUCH SOME PEOPLE HAVE TO PAY FOR INSURANCE LATELY??? OH THATS RIGHT YOUR A RETARD-ANYWAYS-THATS THE LEAST U AND THE PHARMACYS CAN DO FOR US !!!!!!!!!!
