Enjoy a special Valentine’s Day dinner for a steal!
Restaurant.com is offering a new code for 60% off the purchase of gift certificates through them. Pair this with the cash back deal through Cashbaq, and you can get a $25 gift certificate for just $3.00 (or free if you’re new to Cashbaq – they are offering a $5 signup incentive right now)!
And there’s an added bonus this time – get a $15 FTD reward with your purchase. How sweet is that?!?
Taking advantage of this offer is easy:
- Sign up. Sign up with Cashbaq and click through their site to get 25% cash back from any Restaurants.com purchase.
- Add your GCs. Add your gift certificates to your cart in increments of $25.
- Enter the code. Enter the code TREAT at checkout (good through 2/15/09).
- Redeem your GC. Use the gift certificate code generated to select and print out gift certificates to the restaurants of your choice.
As I’ve mentioned in the past, make sure you look up what restaurants are participating in your area and check to see if they have any purchase requirements. Some restaurants may require a minimum food purchase when using one of the GCs.
It’s not too late to do Valentine’s Day on a budget! And if you’re not fond of the crowded restaurants on V-Day like me, go a day early or late to avoid them.
BTW, Cashbaq still has the FREE or cheap Entertainment Book deal going, so I’d encourage you to take advantage of that as well if you have not.

Hi, Leah. Are you saying the coupon code you received in your email said it expired? They’re supposed to be good through 3/31/09.

Also, many of the restaurants participate in various Rewards Network programs. You could get 5 United Airline Miles per dollar (10 if a VIP), or a % cash back!

Just a note to be aware that some of these prohibit their use on holidays – so Valentine’s Day may not work for some restaurants. Thanks!

We have also noticed that restaurant.com gift certificates don’t work on most holidays, so definitely call the restaurant first before trying to use it. Also I’ve even seen some that are not valid on weekends, just during the week. I guess it all depends on the restaurant and their policies.

My husband and I just used our first restaurants.com certificate last weekend and it worked perfectly! One of the 3 that I had ordered did have specific days that you could use it on (Sun-Thurs I think), but the other two didn’t have any restrictions on them. It definitely made a date night more affordable and got us out to try a new place that we enjoyed!
MSM – the certs are $4 with the TREAT code, not $3 … still a good deal!

Yes, please be sure to check the purchase requirements or for any blackout dates!
Kate, the $3 is the price after your receive your 25% cash back when shopping through Cashbaq. I’m happy to hear you’ve been pleased with the GCs!

I am not sure what to do. I signed up at cashbaq – but don’t see anything about restaurants. Cashbaq looks very interesting – do have a prior post about it and how it works. thanks, sherry

Hi, Sherry. I don’t have a post on Cashbaq currently, but you’re right, I should do one soon. Basically you earn cash back (either a flat rate or a percentage of your transaction amount) when you click through their site to make a purchase. Here’s the link for Restaurants.com.

I just used restaurant.com a couple of weeks ago to order a cheap pizza. We got pizza, wings and mozzarella sticks for $13. I wouldn’t have ordered all of that except there was a minimum $20 purchase. The price of pizza has gone up so much lately that it was costing us over $20 just for the pizza and close to $25 for pizza with wings. Anyway it worked out well and my total cost was about $13 for all that food including the 90 cents for the certificate. I also like how you many of the restaurants let you view the menu right from the site (with prices) so you can decide if you’ll like the food or be able to afford it even with the certificate.

You folks must have better choices for your area. Mine only has a few and they all have high minimums, like $50 or two entrees (starting at 17.99 each) or an additional 20% gratuity added to before coupon total.
