The holidays are over, and if you’re anything like me you’ve probably got dozens, if not hundreds, of digital photos stored on your computer right now. If you’re also like me, you probably worry from time to time about losing them. Backing them up to CDs can be time consuming and tedious with much of the software I’ve tried.
So I was thrilled when Picture Keeper sent me their little gadget to try. It’s a fantastically simple way to safeguard irreplaceable digital photos. You just plug the little USB device into your computer, and it does all the work for you. It finds all of the pictures stored on your computer and saves them safely to the device. The next time you plug it in, it only pulls in new photos so you never had to worry about duplicates! You can even schedule back up reminders on their site, which this busy mom definitely needs.
The Picture Keeper comes in two sizes, 4GB which holds 4,000 pictures and 8GB which holds 8,000 pictures. If you’re not sure which size you would need to store your photos, check out their tutorial.
Through January Picture Keeper is offering readers $15 off with the code DealForMoms. This makes the 4GB Picture Keeper only $25! I think that’s a price well worth the peace of mind that comes from knowing my photos are secure outside of my computer (assuming one of the kiddos doesn’t run off with the device, LOL).
Better yet, Picture Keeper has graciously given me an 8GB Picture Keeper to give away to one lucky Deal Seeking Mom Reader. I love it when companies let me share these fabulous products with you all!

BTW, I work at a museum, and what many people don’t realize is that CD’s and DVD’s will eventually degrade. Solid State digital storage is more reliable, but EVERYTHING that you store should be checked every year or so to ensure that it is still compatible with current technology. Nothing lasts forever.

I’m not sure what I would do if I lost all of my pictures. I used to have so many albums of pictures & now with digital technology, most are stored on my computer. I burn my pictures onto a CD/DVD but for some reason they only read on some computers & not all. I need to find other ways of storing my photos that will keep them safe & secure for a lifetime. We’ve taken lots of pictures since my son was born & I’d be devastated if I lost them.

I have so many pictures on so many different devices (computer, SD cards, cd’s) most of my son for the past 4 years it would be awesome to get them all in one place! Thanks so much for the chance!
Julie
I would love to store pictures of my family and friends, so even when we can not be together I can still see their smiling faces :)

The pictures of my family that I take almost daily are the most important. I have a horrible memory, so these pictures help me look back and remember. I would love to be able to stop backing them up to CD and have this picture keeper.

I will definitely be able to use this device. I not only have a huge amount of pics on my PC, but they are not stored anywhere else. If the PC goes, so do the pics. Very sad…

Just came across long lost photos of family from the early 1900s. I would love to scan them and save them on the photo keeper. That way they would never get lost again. Great Idea!

I would love to scan and store all of my families older and deteriorating photos to be preserved. I would also LOVE to have a way to store all of my 5 children’s artwork so it doesn’t take so much space on my computer that we have to be selective about what they save. If each kid had a way to save ALL of their amazing creations-imagine how fun that will later on!

Wow! So many photos that I don’t ever want to lose. Wedding, my kids, my granddaughter, vacations, family celebrations, the holidays….I don’t ever want to lost any of our precious memories!
Thanks for the chance to win!

The most precious photos on my computer are of my family. I’ve taken a lot of digital photos over the past few years — my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary; the last Christmas celebration before my dad died, when all his brothers and his sister were there; my mom and dad dressed up for Easter (I caught my dad playfully kissing my mom’s cheek and her first thought was to delete it, but of course I didn’t and it turned out to be her favorite photo of the day). In addition to the photos I’ve taken, my husband has retouched many old family photos, for his family and mine, removing dust and scratches and making them look good again. I would hate for all his hours of work to be lost.

My biggest fear is that my computer will crash and I’ll lose the thousands of photo’s I have of our son. My husband is in the military and he’s gone a lot so I rely on photo’s to keep him updated when he’s overseas. The most important photo’s I have are the first time he met our son when he was two weeks old.
