Join Deal Seeking Mom Survey Panel (Earn Up To $30 Per Week!)

October 18, 2010 by Tara Kuczykowski 96 Comments

I’ve got a really exciting survey opportunity available exclusively to Deal Seeking Mom readers currently!

CampusFundraiser would like to test their Online Survey program outside of a collegiate market, which is their normal demographic. They contacted me and asked if I would be interested in testing this with some of my readers. Once registered, you can respond to and complete surveys online, easily making a few dollars per day (or more!) as you surf the net.

There is the potential to earn as much as $20-$30 per week with this opportunity, but it’s only available to the first 4,000 readers to register at this time. If you’re interested in participating, CLICK HERE for complete details and to sign up!

Thank you so much for sharing this opportunity with us. However, I have a question Tara. Can you direct me to the links for the CF Daily and Daily 5 surveys that we should copy and paste to our browsers. I couldn’t find that area anywhere on the site. Sorry to be such a knuckle-head as I am sure it was probably staring me in the face! Thanks again

I’m reading through all the rules that we have to agree to and it keeps referring to this as a fundraiser… not a program where an individual is paid per survey. By joining this group, are we raising funds for the DSM website? More information on this would be appreciated.

I agree. I am reading some of the info and it seems as if we are fundraising, but I’m not sure for what, lol. On one page it actually says the program is open to any college student group. So I would need some more info also.

I believe what the full description says on DSM is that they are doing a test outside their usual setup of the campus fundraisers, which is why there are extra steps to get the money for the surveys, etc. So, right now, all the do is fundraisers on campus for campus groups, but they are branching out to do individuals and offering cash for participation :D We’re the guinea pigs :D

        Lauren,

Exactly! Based on testing we have done with a few other blogs (with great results by the way) we are in the process of building a platform specifically for you guys. In the meantime, disregard all of the wording and description that marks you as a group in a fundraising event!

I did this same program through MSM and found that 25-30 per week is WILDLY exaggerated. I checked the site after 4 weeks and out of our group of 1600 only about 10 people had even earned 20 in that entire time. There are a lot of survey sites that pay much more.

      Sarah,
All comments and feedback are welcome. However, your numbers are not correct. The MSM panel has only been live for 5 weeks total and many people have not only received their first AND second $25 earnings checks, and our top earner is on her way to receiving her 4th and she doesn’t participate everyday! Participation is entirely optional and to the extent you choose to spend on the up to 6 daily opportunities you have per day is entirely up to you so please keep participation only to a level you feel positive about.

Sorry Brigitte, there are no referral programs for our individual test panelists (at this time anyway) that applies to collegiate groups who complete a fundraiser and refers another group to do the same. We do have some great rewards and incentives on an individual level though so stay tuned for messaging alerts.

I’m not in anyway concerned about my earnings – I would just prefer to be told what benefit is gained for DSM. It’s not that I don’t support referrals, just that I’m more open and likely to do so when I know what stands to be gained instead of it being all hyped up about it being so great and being uncertain as to where the “greatness” lies. More often than not the motive to gain people from referral outweighs the benefit that person will gain from joining. I personally have no experience with this one, but have read that it’s very much like others sites that I have had experience with and didn’t like one bit. (even complaints about not getting paid) I don’t ever join these things without trying to get the whole story and when someone stands to gain by my joining – to put it simple – if someone says “I’m getting x, y, and or z for you signing up” makes them more trustworthy in my eyes and me likely to sign up. That’s why I asked and that’s why I would still like to know WHAT the kickback is. I feel like it should be disclosed to all the loyal readers of this blog.

ShelleyB, I absolutely did disclose this information to my loyal readers. At the bottom of the information page, I noted:

Please note that CampusFundraiser is paying me a small amount for each survey completed in exchange for me helping them find trustworthy participants. This in no way affects what you earn per survey.

It was also indicated on the initial registration page that I would earn a small amount on surveys completed. I was not paid to post this, and there’s absolutely nothing in it for me if the readers that are participating don’t earn anything.

I respect my readers’ privacy, and I’ve worked hard to build this site upon honesty and integrity. I have no intention of knowingly offering something that undermines that hard work.

You misunderstood – yes, you said you were getting something, but you didn’t disclose what you are earning – in that you weren’t being specific. I don’t see the harm in saying exactly what that is. As in, a set amount per sign up or a tiered effect where we earn per survey and then you get a % of each one? Can you not reveal that just to be fair and straight forward with us??

Are you participating in the surveys as well?

          • Tara Kuczykowski

            October 20, 2010 at 2:06 pm

I get a very small percentage based on what participants earn, but regardless of what I earn, I wanted to offer this as a service to my readers, not because it’s going to translate into some huge cash cow for myself. I think I have been very fair and straightforward regarding my compensation; however, I’d rather not disclose the exact percentage as this is a pilot program and I’m not aware of what arrangements they’ve made with other bloggers that may be participating.

No, I am not participating in the surveys myself. Not because I don’t feel it’s a worthwhile endeavor, but because managing this site takes up all of my time and energy and I need to reserve what little I have left for my family. Before I started blogging, I was a big survey participant though, and it was a nice opportunity for a little extra spending money each month.

Naturally, DSM will benefit from referrals. I’m pretty sure that’s how most referral programs work. If it’s anything like other survey programs, she will receive a percentage based on the earnings of her referrals. I just started my own blog last week and I gotta say, I sure wish I had the fan base DSM does so I could host things like this! hehe Maybe someday…. At any rate, DSM has helped me save a lot of money. It’s a lot of work to locate the deals and get them out here for us to read! So, I’m more than happy to follow her referral link for this. If it benefits us both, Woohoo! :)

With any survey company, there are going to be offers that you may not qualify for. Unfortunately sometimes they’re only looking for a specific demographic, so I’m not sure I’d give up after just one day.

I was hoping this would be a way for my readers to earn some extra spending money. The small amount that I earn is based on what you earn, so I’d like to see you all be successful at completing surveys too. But of course I’d never expect anyone to continue taking surveys that they’re getting screened out of time and time again, so by all means if it seems to be a pattern, please don’t continue to take them.

Thanks Tara! I know there will be surveys that we don’t qualify for (I participate in other online survey sites as well) – I had just hoped that in the hour of taking the surveys and filling out info, they’d have at LEAST one geared towards my demographic. I’d think they’d have some idea of “who we are” based on the group we’re in. I’d love to help you out (yours is one of my favorite blogs!) and earn some money too – but, the frustrating part isn’t just not qualifying, it’s going through several pages of questions and answers and THEN being told you’re “not a match”. I don’t mean to be such a downer on your page, Tara, I really don’t! – just sharing my experience. I hope others have more success and return to this thread to let us know about it! Good luck! :)

I am doing this from when they offered it on Money Saving Mom last month. In fact, I’d like to support DSM too but am not sure if I can register twice. Anyway, when I’m not a match I change my age and try again. It seems to get me in to quite a few. You just got to follow the questions and try to figure out what they are looking for, somebody buying a new car or whatever and answer accordingly. I dont have time to do surveys every day but it’s nice to make some extra spending money and not have to leave the house! Good luck Cathy!
