The following review is from the Deal Seeking Mom project administrator, Mandi Ehman:
As the weather gets warmer, spring cleaning is on a lot of people’s minds and Arm & Hammer and Electrolux want to help Deal Seeking Mom readers tackle this big project with products that make cleaning easier and our homes healthier.
Arm & Hammer
We’re all familiar with the orange box of Arm & Hammer baking soda which naturally reduces household odors in refrigerators, pantries and trashcans and can be used as a natural cleaning agent, but Arm & Hammer also has a line of cleaning products that use the power of baking soda to help you tackle specific cleaning jobs around your home, including:
- Arm & Hammer Clean Shower
- Arm & Hammer Baking Soda Shaker
- Arm & Hammer Scrub Free Cleanser
- Arm & Hammer Carpet & Fabric Odor Eliminator
- Arm & Hammer Essentials Trigger Spray
- Arm & Hammer Trash Can Deodorizer
- Arm & Hammer Fabric Softener Sheets
In addition, Arm & Hammer vacuum bags and filters are allergist recommended and offer HEPA filtration, which keeps 99.97% of small particles like dust, pollen and pet dander from being re-introduced into the air. With more than 120 different styles of vacuum accessories, there are Arm & Hammer filters for nearly all brands and models of vacuum cleaners.
Electrolux
Our family has always been a huge fan of Electrolux appliances, and we recently bought our first Electrolux vacuum, the Electrolux ErgoRapido Bagless/Cordless Stick Vacuum, which we love for daily vacuuming to keep up with the crumbs and dirt that our four girls seem to create.
So when Electrolux offered us the opportunity to try the Electrolux Versatility bagless/upright model, we were excited to see if it would live up to the standard set by the stick vacuum. It’s hard for us to find a vacuum that works well on our hand-crafted custom wood floors without scratching them up, but we were hopeful this would do the trick while providing us with more cleaning power than the stick vacuum or our resident Shop Vac.
The box arrived, and my husband immediately unpacked it and began vacuuming, and it really did live up to our expectations. The innovative handle quickly releases a telescoping wand system that reaches up to 14 feet. We’ve rarely used vacuum attachments in the past because of the extra work of hooking them up or switching power to the wand, but this process is automatic in the Versatility, making it easy to quickly dust a high shelf, vacuum hair off the couch or clean up crumbs in the snack drawer.
Additionally, the Versatility vacuum offers:
- A three-stage cyclonic suction system that separates most of the dirt from the air before it reaches the filter, so the filter stays clean and the vacuum retains maximum cleaning power.
- A bottom-empty dust cup to make emptying it easy.
- A HEPA filter that removes 99.97% of small particles from the air while vacuuming and includes charcoal technology to absorb and eliminate odors.
- Quick and easy switching from hard floor to carpet mode, making it easy to vacuum your entire home.

Also, spring cleaning includes cleaning baseboards (which I detest), cleaning windows (which I detest), cleaning out closets (putting away winter clothes – big job), moving appliances to clean under (need I say more) and other general cleaning duties. As you can see, I don’t really look forward to spring cleaning, but how nice everything looks when we’re finished. :)

I started this past weekend by doing some yard work and gardening, but now need to focus on cleaning out some clutter from inside the house. I just really need to get motivated to do it.

I have everything from steam cleaning the floors to bleaching the bathroom on my spring to-do list! But I absolutely dread the first task I put on my to-do list, once I get one task completed then I’m okay after that haha.

Spring cleaning will be repairing a few things that need work done on them and cleaning out our shed.

I have a bit of OCD therefore I love spring-cleaning just as much as I dread it. Every spring I do a complete household sweep. I vacuum every blind, move every piece of furniture in order to eliminate those pesky, elusive dust bunnies, eradicate the cobwebs looming on my ceiling as well as the dust that not so kindly settles on my baseboards. Windows, floors and fixtures become no match for my need to win over the particles that rest so loudly there. I love taking charge of my home, however along with that feeling comes the dread of knowing I am up against a husband, 11 year old, 14 year old and 2 year old who have an innate sense of seek and destroy ingrained in their every thought and movement. I believe my family recruited my Persian and she has sided with them on the dark and dirty side for even she seems to be working harder to work hair loose in every room in the house! So another spring competition has snuck upon me again and I continue to be determined I CAN win…….or insanity will at least let me think I did!

Spring cleaning in my home takes days. We go through each room and fill tons of trash bags with unwanted items. What I dreed the most is cleaning the garage after all the bags are in there. We usually try to sell our unwanted stuff in a garage sale and then donate the rest.
