The following review is from the Deal Seeking Mom project administrator, Mandi Ehman:
As the weather gets warmer, spring cleaning is on a lot of people’s minds and Arm & Hammer and Electrolux want to help Deal Seeking Mom readers tackle this big project with products that make cleaning easier and our homes healthier.
Arm & Hammer
We’re all familiar with the orange box of Arm & Hammer baking soda which naturally reduces household odors in refrigerators, pantries and trashcans and can be used as a natural cleaning agent, but Arm & Hammer also has a line of cleaning products that use the power of baking soda to help you tackle specific cleaning jobs around your home, including:
- Arm & Hammer Clean Shower
- Arm & Hammer Baking Soda Shaker
- Arm & Hammer Scrub Free Cleanser
- Arm & Hammer Carpet & Fabric Odor Eliminator
- Arm & Hammer Essentials Trigger Spray
- Arm & Hammer Trash Can Deodorizer
- Arm & Hammer Fabric Softener Sheets
In addition, Arm & Hammer vacuum bags and filters are allergist recommended and offer HEPA filtration, which keeps 99.97% of small particles like dust, pollen and pet dander from being re-introduced into the air. With more than 120 different styles of vacuum accessories, there are Arm & Hammer filters for nearly all brands and models of vacuum cleaners.
Electrolux
Our family has always been a huge fan of Electrolux appliances, and we recently bought our first Electrolux vacuum, the Electrolux ErgoRapido Bagless/Cordless Stick Vacuum, which we love for daily vacuuming to keep up with the crumbs and dirt that our four girls seem to create.
So when Electrolux offered us the opportunity to try the Electrolux Versatility bagless/upright model, we were excited to see if it would live up to the standard set by the stick vacuum. It’s hard for us to find a vacuum that works well on our hand-crafted custom wood floors without scratching them up, but we were hopeful this would do the trick while providing us with more cleaning power than the stick vacuum or our resident Shop Vac.
The box arrived, and my husband immediately unpacked it and began vacuuming, and it really did live up to our expectations. The innovative handle quickly releases a telescoping wand system that reaches up to 14 feet. We’ve rarely used vacuum attachments in the past because of the extra work of hooking them up or switching power to the wand, but this process is automatic in the Versatility, making it easy to quickly dust a high shelf, vacuum hair off the couch or clean up crumbs in the snack drawer.
Additionally, the Versatility vacuum offers:
- A three-stage cyclonic suction system that separates most of the dirt from the air before it reaches the filter, so the filter stays clean and the vacuum retains maximum cleaning power.
- A bottom-empty dust cup to make emptying it easy.
- A HEPA filter that removes 99.97% of small particles from the air while vacuuming and includes charcoal technology to absorb and eliminate odors.
- Quick and easy switching from hard floor to carpet mode, making it easy to vacuum your entire home.

Spring cleaning means clearing out the clutter in the closets (the cleaning itself is not so bad but what to do all the stuff that has accumulated). The task I dread most is the stuff on the top shelves which haunts me because I don’t need it but feel I can’t get rid off it!

I am not looking forward to cleaning out all of the closets and washing all the walls down!

Spring cleaning is about the same as anytime of the year, except we make sure to get the insides and outsides of the windows – NO FUN!

Spring cleaning in our house is a week long process, including washing the slipcovers on all furniture; dusting the shutters on all windows; swapping, cleaning & sorting clothes . . . and basically cleaning every surface of the house! Of course, that would be much easier if I weren’t using a vacuum cleaner my husband bought in college, almost 20 years ago!

I have a houseful of (6) kids and (3) pets and am always cleaning. I feel like I have no time to go for a walk or take the littlest ones to the park because I always have kids’ rooms, bathrooms, or floors or whathaveyou to catch up on. I do try to balance my fun time and chores, and would love to have some things to make these things easier!!

our garage/laundry room is at the top of the list. this is where the previous owners of our house stored touch up paint. The oil tank and our furnace are in this room as well as our laundry area and a ton of junk (two old mattresses, and a big iron claw foot tub to name a few!) it all needs to go! we also store rakes, shovels and other lawn stuff in this room. it’s a big mess!

On my spring cleaning list is washing the curtains and I think it is what I dread most too. They take forever to iron and get back up.

The job I hate most for spring cleaning is the windows and window screens.. yuk living in NC pollen is a dirty word in our house!! It coats the windows, screens, window ledges etc and cleaning it off after the pine trees and oak are done is not an easy task. I bet some new arm and hammer products and a elctrolux vacuum would make my task easier :-)

Spring cleaning to do… Clean out our bedroom closet and the bathroom closet. The big ones, though, are outside. I am praying and hoping to redo the landscaping along one side of the house. And stain/paint the front and back decks.
