The following review is from the Deal Seeking Mom project administrator, Mandi Ehman:
As the weather gets warmer, spring cleaning is on a lot of people’s minds and Arm & Hammer and Electrolux want to help Deal Seeking Mom readers tackle this big project with products that make cleaning easier and our homes healthier.
Arm & Hammer
We’re all familiar with the orange box of Arm & Hammer baking soda which naturally reduces household odors in refrigerators, pantries and trashcans and can be used as a natural cleaning agent, but Arm & Hammer also has a line of cleaning products that use the power of baking soda to help you tackle specific cleaning jobs around your home, including:
- Arm & Hammer Clean Shower
- Arm & Hammer Baking Soda Shaker
- Arm & Hammer Scrub Free Cleanser
- Arm & Hammer Carpet & Fabric Odor Eliminator
- Arm & Hammer Essentials Trigger Spray
- Arm & Hammer Trash Can Deodorizer
- Arm & Hammer Fabric Softener Sheets
In addition, Arm & Hammer vacuum bags and filters are allergist recommended and offer HEPA filtration, which keeps 99.97% of small particles like dust, pollen and pet dander from being re-introduced into the air. With more than 120 different styles of vacuum accessories, there are Arm & Hammer filters for nearly all brands and models of vacuum cleaners.
Electrolux
Our family has always been a huge fan of Electrolux appliances, and we recently bought our first Electrolux vacuum, the Electrolux ErgoRapido Bagless/Cordless Stick Vacuum, which we love for daily vacuuming to keep up with the crumbs and dirt that our four girls seem to create.
So when Electrolux offered us the opportunity to try the Electrolux Versatility bagless/upright model, we were excited to see if it would live up to the standard set by the stick vacuum. It’s hard for us to find a vacuum that works well on our hand-crafted custom wood floors without scratching them up, but we were hopeful this would do the trick while providing us with more cleaning power than the stick vacuum or our resident Shop Vac.
The box arrived, and my husband immediately unpacked it and began vacuuming, and it really did live up to our expectations. The innovative handle quickly releases a telescoping wand system that reaches up to 14 feet. We’ve rarely used vacuum attachments in the past because of the extra work of hooking them up or switching power to the wand, but this process is automatic in the Versatility, making it easy to quickly dust a high shelf, vacuum hair off the couch or clean up crumbs in the snack drawer.
Additionally, the Versatility vacuum offers:
- A three-stage cyclonic suction system that separates most of the dirt from the air before it reaches the filter, so the filter stays clean and the vacuum retains maximum cleaning power.
- A bottom-empty dust cup to make emptying it easy.
- A HEPA filter that removes 99.97% of small particles from the air while vacuuming and includes charcoal technology to absorb and eliminate odors.
- Quick and easy switching from hard floor to carpet mode, making it easy to vacuum your entire home.

Here goes my list: moving the furniture in all the bedrooms so I can get to the dust bunnies that have accumulated underneath them , washing windows and baseboards, switching out my winter clothes for my summer, cleaning the carpets, cleaning the inside of my car, washing some of the walls because we have a wood bunner that leaves black soot on them from the heater vents, and if that isnt enough, I plan on ripping up my front porch outdoor carpet, repainting the floor instead, repainting the shutters, putting in a new screen door and light, amd then once that is all done then I will kick back and enjoy the summer from my nice new front porch with a super clean house to boot!

windows-yuck don’t know why I don’t like cleaning them, maybe because there are so many!

My list consists of hand-wiping baseboards, door-ledges, dusting ceilings, window ledges, cleaning under fridge as well as stove and washer and dryer, looking for fingerprints on in-door doors, vacuuming under furniture as well as in furniture like couch, loveseat, dressers and beds. My worst chore is taking down all my curtains and washing them and rehanging them. All my curtains are hademade and washable, but its a drag to take down and rehang but they get so dusty. So I am thankful that the curtains get done only once a year while the other stuff gets done every other season.

Spring cleaning at my house means rearranging the living and dining room, dragging everything out of the kitchen cupboards and wiping down the inside of them…making sure the extender pole gets out and the cobwebs in the vaulted ceiling are GONE and getting the mud splats off of the windows (from the doggy outside!) If I’m really lucky, it also means I get to have my carpets cleaned…just to name a few things…

The thing I have to do for spring cleaning is get someone over to clean all the carpets. I also like to deep clean the bathroom and wipe down all the walls and scrubb every line of grout. Sooo tiring, sigh.

My Spring Cleaning task that I am dreading is cleaning out the refrigerator. I hate taking out all of that food and cleaning every inch inside, but I know it needs to be done. I also need to clean the laundry room and garage.
