As you can imagine, laundry is a never-ending chore around here with five active kids. all® Small & Mighty® laundry detergent is one of my preferred brands, and I love the convenience the new 96-load bottle. Of course it doesn’t last anywhere close to six months around here, but I appreciate the ease of dispensing it and its stain-fighting capabilities!
Two Deal Seeking Mom readers will each win a coupon for a free bottle of all® Small & Mighty® 3x Concentrate (up to $6.50)! These would be great to hold onto until the next BOGO sale at CVS so that you can get TWO free bottles of detergent!
To enter, leave me a comment with your best money-saving laundry tip.
Here’s a little tip from me to you — I can generally find a better price on the smaller bottles of All Small & Mighty, so I save my larger 96-load bottle and refill it with them!

I do some of the same things the others have said … I wash only in cold with the exception of underwear and towels. I only buy detergent on sale. Etc.
My big tip is that I cut all my dryer/fabric softener sheets in half. It still seems just as effective in cutting static and making things soft. This way the box of sheets lasts a long time! and saves the expense, especially when you buy it on sale as well.
Chrissy
I don’t have a good detergent tip–but as for dryer sheets: I use Walgreens dryer sheets. They’re less expensive and this week they’re B1G1! I also cut them in half sometimes.
Brandi
I always pretreat those kid stains before I wash, so I don’t have to wash soiled clothes daily.
Alli
I always make sure that I am measuring detergent correctly. I used to pour it close to the top of the cap, but now I make sure I only fill to the number that makes sense. It saves a lot!

I make my own detergent with 1/2 c borax, 1/2 c Arm & Hammer washing soda, and 1/3 of a grated Fels Naptha bar, all dissolved in 6 cups of hot water. Then I divide the mixture equally between 2 empty gallon milk jugs and fill them up the rest of the way with hot water. Voila! I add 1/2 cup of liquid to each load and it only costs me 1 cent a load. It works better than the generic brands too!
Of course, even though I make my own, I would never say no to free, so I hope I win!

I save money on laundry by waiting until a BOGO sale to buy detergent and then use 2 coupons to also cut down on cost. I also reuse my fabric softner sheets at least twice.

Of course I buy my detergent on sale. We also invested in a front-load washer, use cold water, and line dry everything.

I love the Purex 3-1, haven’t tried this one.

If I do not like the scent of detergent or how it cleaned my clothes, I will drop a line to the manufacturer. They always will send me some great money saving coupons. I have only done this twice though.

When we bought a front loading washing machine (which saves a lot on water to begin with), it came with a year’s supply of TIDE. That was awesome! I think pre-treating with the TIDE stick when there’s a boo boo seems to get the dirt out much easier then waiting to pre-treat when I wash. This saves on buying pre-treatment materials. Also, thanks to couponing, I ONLY wait for good deals with coupons. I try not to pay more than $2.50 for brand name detergent.

I try to wait until I have a full load to do laundry, wash in cold and carefully pretreat; getting out stains definitely saves in the long run. I also watch for BOGO sales with multiple coupons. I love ALL!
