As you can imagine, laundry is a never-ending chore around here with five active kids. all® Small & Mighty® laundry detergent is one of my preferred brands, and I love the convenience the new 96-load bottle. Of course it doesn’t last anywhere close to six months around here, but I appreciate the ease of dispensing it and its stain-fighting capabilities!
Two Deal Seeking Mom readers will each win a coupon for a free bottle of all® Small & Mighty® 3x Concentrate (up to $6.50)! These would be great to hold onto until the next BOGO sale at CVS so that you can get TWO free bottles of detergent!
To enter, leave me a comment with your best money-saving laundry tip.
Here’s a little tip from me to you — I can generally find a better price on the smaller bottles of All Small & Mighty, so I save my larger 96-load bottle and refill it with them!

My best laundry tip would be to put a small scoop of baking soda in my loads of laundry so I can get them just a lil brighter whiter and cleaner!! And its soo much cheaper than other products that do the same!!
kirsty
Well, I add a little bit of water to delude it so it will last longer when I start getting low on detergent.

mine would be if you go to the laundry mat dont take the whole bottle if you dont have to put it in a smaller bottle and i put my fabric softner in the sample bottles i have gotten in the mail that way it takes down on the weight when you have to lug everything.
Jennifer
I bought a HE washer/dryer with SmartDispense. So it only uses a precise amount!

Make sure you choose the proper size load on your washer when you start a load of laundry. That way you can save on your water bill.

I use the Sunday insert coupons for free sample sizes of the brands I don’t normally buy, and use those to wash my sheets. I also reuse dryer sheets – 2 used ones equals one new one – has pretty much the same effect.
Melissa
I save money on laundry detergent with coupons, and I use a re-usable dryer sheet that lasts for a year at a time to save on dryer sheets.

I wash everything in cold water. Comes out just as clean and saves on the electric.

my money saving tip is to use dryer sheets more than once OR to cut the whole stack of new ones in half. half a dryer sheet works just as well as a whole dryer sheet!
Summer
I use about half the recommended amount and my clothes still come clean.

I try to only do full loads – that saves water and detergent

My best way to save money on laundry is to not care about detergent brands. I get whatever I can find the cheapest and this has worked very well. I have yet to stumble on a detergent I didn’t like
Jennifer
I use the dryer sheets at least two times! Always works.

I save on detergent by buying it when it’s on sale and extra bucks are being offered at CVS. I can usually find a manufacturer’s coupon to go along with the purchase too. Thanks for the chance.
Angela
I’ve found a lot of cheap and free laundry detergent following blogs and researching deals. When I don’t need detergent, I use up my $1 coupons (when they don’t exclude trial) in the travel row – where you can get a single load packet for $1 (or free with coupon).

My money saving tip is wear clothes right side out, then inside out…wait, thats probably not a good tip…but thats the way we roll around here! LOL
Stephanie
My laundry tip has to do with ‘portion control’. I have a front load washer and I realized after years of filling the detergent cup to the line that I was adding WAY more detergent than the machine required. Now I use a measuring cup. Not only does my detergent last longer but my machine doesn’t work as hard and I use less water getting my clothes clean. A win, win, win situation.

Only use a capful of the size. Using more will not benefit you. And when your towards the end add some water to the bottle of detergent.
