24-Hour Giveaway: Two Bottles of All Small & Mighty

September 16, 2009 by Tara Kuczykowski

ALL-96oz-Stainlifter

As you can imagine, laundry is a never-ending chore around here with five active kids. all® Small & Mighty® laundry detergent is one of my preferred brands, and I love the convenience the new 96-load bottle. Of course it doesn’t last anywhere close to six months around here, but I appreciate the ease of dispensing it and its stain-fighting capabilities!

Two Deal Seeking Mom readers will each win a coupon for a free bottle of all® Small & Mighty® 3x Concentrate (up to $6.50)! These would be great to hold onto until the next BOGO sale at CVS so that you can get TWO free bottles of detergent!

To enter, leave me a comment with your best money-saving laundry tip.

Here’s a little tip from me to you — I can generally find a better price on the smaller bottles of All Small & Mighty, so I save my larger 96-load bottle and refill it with them!

+++++++++++++++

Every reader has four methods available to enter this contest. Choose one each of any combination of method one, two, three, or four for up to a total of 4 entries!!!

Methods of entry:

My favorite tips save money AND time. First, I always make sure to use the specified amount. Many people just fill up the cap, unaware that they ONLY need to fill to the “fill line”. Next, I presort my laundry like this:
    1. whites
    2. pants
    3. tops
    4. undergarments
    5. towels and sheets.

Since each load contains only one thing, it is easy to put away. All pants get folded. Shirts get hung. Underwear just gets stuffed into a drawer. Easy.

Finally, I have a cheapo recipe for laundry detergent. 1 part borax, one part baking (or laundry)soda, and a dash of dish liquid. Cleeeeeeannnn!

I have tried many saving things when it comes to laundry soap. I have tried making my own soap, I didn’t think it worked as good as the laundry soap I buy so stopped doing that, Now I use my BOGO coupons for laundry soap or buy what is on sale a refill my big empty bottle, for the easy spout that I love. I also use cold water and make sure to always have a full load before doing laundry.

I usually wash on off peak times so I think it gives me a little break on my electricity and we all reuse our shower towels so I don’t have to keep doing loads of towels.

I only wash with cold water. If my laundry isn’t really dirty I use 1/3 less laundry detergent for it to last longer. I only buy whats on sale and have a coupon for. Thank you!

My tip is cold water and buying concentrated laundry detergent. Also hanging laundry whenever possible. We also save all the washcloths towels and stuff like that and try to do one big load at the end of the week rather then a lot of smaller loads through out the week we try to do the same with my sons laundry

To save money on detergent, you can add water to the detergent to make it last longer– especially if it is concentrated. Another way to save is to use less soap per load. I tend to do the laundry only once a week, so I will only have one load of each- colors, whites, and towels.

I use half of the recommended amount of detergent per load. I also pretreat all stains in advance so I don’t have to wash them again. Lastly, I always make sure I wash with a full load. It actually makes your washer perform more effeciently.

For the dryer, I use a ball of aluminum foil. It eliminates static cling and can be reused for a long time.
