Walmart wants to help you stretch your back-to-school clothing budget. With basics priced at just $10 or less, you can dress your student for an entire week for under $50!
Yeah, yeah, yeah . . . I was a little skeptical too, but Walmart provided me with a $50 gift card to check it out for myself, and I’m happy to report that it’s absolutely true. I got all of the items pictured below for just $53!

Yeah, so I exceeded my budget just a tad, but my oldest boys are thrilled at the additions to their back-to-school wardrobe! We don’t have hand-me-downs since they’ve worn the same size for as long as I can remember (they’re 12 months apart), so I’m thrilled at how these savings have stretched our clothing budget.
Would you like to take the $50 Walmart Back-To-School Challenge?

Buy good deals year around for the upcoming year. Don’t just live by the start of school sales
Jennifer
I stock up on coupons and take them on the tax free weekend here in GA. In addition to the money we save on taxes we normally spend enough at one store to use the $15 off $75 coupons.

I buy all of my school supplies at Walmart because overall they have the lowest prices. There may be a better deal on one item at another store, but Walmart will match competitors prices so you end up spending less by the time you are done.

Clip coupons on the things you buy, they really do add up when you use them regularly

I shop all of the great back to school sales and stock up on items when I c an get them free or close to free. I also buy some supplies when they are on clearance and save them for the next year. Since I have so many notebooks, I am planning on using those like filler paper in a 3 ring binder as well. Thanks for the chance of a great giveaway!

I take advantage of deals where I can get things free or close to free after ECB or RR!

I only buy school supplies when they are a quarter or less. Being a teacher, there are stores where I can buy classroom sets and use coupons. Wal-mart has had some great deals this summer!!
Brenda
The best tip I have is shop year round for school supplies and clothes and stash them until needed. I always shop year round for clothes and other items – i.e. My kids each have a bin up high in their closets for new clothes and when school starts (or a new season) I will pull them out and “tada” everyone has a new wardrobe without even feeling the “pinch.”

I have a 6 month old son and we’ve been going to Walmart to stock pile his wardrobe.

My money saving tip is eating in as much as possible! It’s tempting to eat out to save time, but there are quick healthy meals that cost a lot less :)

I look for sales all during the year and buy clothes when I find a really good deal. I put them away until school starts so they are still new to the kids.

I buy clearance items (usually 50-75% off) throughout the year and stash them until needed. Then at back to school time, I only have to fill in with a few things.
Angella
hit the sales and coupons!

Several things… I read your blog for cost savings and then make a plan. CVS & Walgreens with their free or almost free supplies has been the biggest plus. I ALWAYS buy crayons at Wal-mart for the cheapest prices. Watch and read the weekly adds for the cheapest things, and thankfully our school makes the supply lists available for the next year in May so you can plan!
Love the shirts at Wal-mart so I hope I win so I can add to my sons wardrobe.
