We don’t have hand-me-downs since they’ve worn the same size for as long as I can remember (they’re 12 months apart), so I’m thrilled at how these savings have stretched our clothing budget.

Pack lunches from home and make up containers or bags of snacks from larger bags rather than buying individual servings, way less money!

I love to buy new clothing for my daughter at the end of each season for the upcoming seasons. You can always get great deals with all the markdowns! As the next season approaches, we shop in her “new clothes tub” for all new goodies. She loves “shopping”!!!

Always try on last years clothes to salvage what still works. this is not popular but necessary. A lot of times they have grown and don’t fit . I t also allows for an appreciation for the new.

Oh how I’d love to win this! I’ve been trying to save on lunches by making my own things instead of buying them prepackaged. For example, last week I got 7 FREE boxes of Rice Krispies (thanks to Raleys and coupons) so I’ve been making rice krispy treats to add to my sons lunch. Also, my son knows to put his empty ziploc bags back into his lunchbox and bring them home to be washed and re-used. It sounds sort of insane, but last year, I bought 1 box of 200 Ziplocs and it got us through the entire school year!

MY favorite money saving tip is to teach your kid that labels don’t count. It’s the clothes that count, not the label.

My son doesn’t care who makes his shoes, shirts, whatever. Saves us a ton.

Buy most of your back-to -school clothes at thrift shops, with just a couple of new items from the store.

We stocked up on the free and nearly free school supplies at CVS, Walgreens, Staples, Wal-Mart, etc.
Thanks for the chance to win!

Well this prize would help my family a whole lot I have a six year old brother who could use the gift ;). Well me and my families strategy is to check in on the walmart website weekely and see what new deals and items are on clearance that way we don’t have to spend our money all at once just get the best deals at the right times. By doing that we can get all we need for his school clothes and it will come out cheaper than if we buy it all at once. Also to save on lunches check on the walmart bulk specials which save a lot and also allow you to get enough supply for 2 weeks or even more.
Oh I am also an EMAIL SUBSCRIBER!!! :).
Hope to hear from you soon

I love Walmart. I stock up on the school supplies when they are cheap at the first of the year, that wayI have enought to last throughout the whole year and don’t have to buy them when the prices go out. They also have great clearance sales. I got my son 10 shirt for $3 each there so that helped alot keep costs down!

I buy most clothing at the local charity and second hand shops. School supplies are bought using coupons and bonus cards.

I started watching for deals at the very beginning of summer, as soon as the deals began. And when stores have their 1 cent sales, I stock up. I still have leftovers from the previous years.

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
