Raise your hand if you love The Home Depot!
Thought so – I mean, what’s not to love? I get inspired to do some sort of household project just walking through their doors.
Here’s another bit of inspiration on a more serious note.
Through Feb. 28, The Home Depot is offering a commemorative “Dream” gift card celebrating the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. When consumers purchase the collector’s edition “Dream” gift card, The Home Depot will donate five percent of all sales to the Center for Civil and Human Rights, up to $1 million dollars. The donation will assist in the building of a permanent exhibition home for his personal writings and papers.
The collection of original documents by Dr. King includes more than 10,000 items, among them 7,000 handwritten notes spanning from 1946 to 1968. They include drafts of his “I Have a Dream” speech, his “Letter from a Birmingham Jail,” other theological writings and his Nobel Peace Prize addresses. The King Papers will be part of the exhibition offering of The Center for Civil and Human Rights. The Dream cards can be purchased at any store, or online at homedepot.com/dream.
Talk about amazing and inspiring, huh?

Mommy, the Human Napkin
My sister inspires me. Last February, she had a portion of her colon removed and discovered she had cancer. She’s been so strong throughout the whole thing, even now. Right now, she’s in the hospital, having had a biopsy on some spots in her lungs. We’re hoping the cancer hasn’t returned, but she’s looking at it as just one more bump in the road. If it’s cancer again, she’ll deal with it. She’s not all depressed or complaining, just calm and ready to fight it head-on. I hope I’d be that strong if it were me, but I just don’t know.
And a Home Depot gift card would really come in handy! We’ve had several big things break lately, like my oven! Ack!

My husband inspire me. My husband works full time as a police officer, is going to school full time to get his masters degree in counseling and is also doing his practicum (student counseling). After doing all this he still has time for me and the kids and does little things to show how much he loves us.
