Raise your hand if you love The Home Depot!
Thought so – I mean, what’s not to love? I get inspired to do some sort of household project just walking through their doors.
Here’s another bit of inspiration on a more serious note.
Through Feb. 28, The Home Depot is offering a commemorative “Dream” gift card celebrating the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. When consumers purchase the collector’s edition “Dream” gift card, The Home Depot will donate five percent of all sales to the Center for Civil and Human Rights, up to $1 million dollars. The donation will assist in the building of a permanent exhibition home for his personal writings and papers.
The collection of original documents by Dr. King includes more than 10,000 items, among them 7,000 handwritten notes spanning from 1946 to 1968. They include drafts of his “I Have a Dream” speech, his “Letter from a Birmingham Jail,” other theological writings and his Nobel Peace Prize addresses. The King Papers will be part of the exhibition offering of The Center for Civil and Human Rights. The Dream cards can be purchased at any store, or online at homedepot.com/dream.
Talk about amazing and inspiring, huh?

The most inspiring person in my life was my sweet mother. She lived with ovarian cancer for over 11 years which was unusual in those days. Her acceptance of the disease and her strong faith has helped me many times. I am now in the midst of serious health issues myself. I aspire to be as gracious and uncomplaining as my mother.

I’m so inspired by my 12 year old son, when he was 5 we will seat and read books for hours, it has now paid off. He’s in 7th grade but just got promoted to 8th grade and will be going to high school next year. Since starting his school career he has only gotten 1 grade of a c, he maintains a grade average of 3.65 but he’s taking all advanced 8th grade classes, last year he maintained a 4.0 gpa the entire school year.
His reading level is of a sophmore college level. He takes online school classes, plays in his school band and plays football for the youth football league. He’s planning on his 10th grade year tp attend college half the school day so that he can recieve his 2 year degree along with his high school diploma. So my son is my inspiration as he has ashma and has had 2 attacks where he stopped breathing and had to be hospitalized. Thank you for a chance to be a winner.

There is so much in this world that inspires me. I am mostly inspired by people who are able to achieve their goals and dreams in spite of many obstacles that have crossed their path along to way. To me, when you can overcome adversity or unforeseeable barriers that life throws your way and you rise above them, and continue to move forward with your journey and your passions in life, to me is most inspiring and allows me to gain my own strength, motivation and determination to achieve my goals and dreams too no matter what challenges I run into along the way. I am also very inspired by people who I see perform random acts of kindness to those in their life as well as to strangers they may not know because they are giving, kind, loving people. To me this is inspiring and reminds me of what love and giving we all are capable of showing to those that may be in a time of need. Thank you for the opportunity to enter.
