Raise your hand if you love The Home Depot!
Thought so – I mean, what’s not to love? I get inspired to do some sort of household project just walking through their doors.
Here’s another bit of inspiration on a more serious note.
Through Feb. 28, The Home Depot is offering a commemorative “Dream” gift card celebrating the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. When consumers purchase the collector’s edition “Dream” gift card, The Home Depot will donate five percent of all sales to the Center for Civil and Human Rights, up to $1 million dollars. The donation will assist in the building of a permanent exhibition home for his personal writings and papers.
The collection of original documents by Dr. King includes more than 10,000 items, among them 7,000 handwritten notes spanning from 1946 to 1968. They include drafts of his “I Have a Dream” speech, his “Letter from a Birmingham Jail,” other theological writings and his Nobel Peace Prize addresses. The King Papers will be part of the exhibition offering of The Center for Civil and Human Rights. The Dream cards can be purchased at any store, or online at homedepot.com/dream.
Talk about amazing and inspiring, huh?

I am inspired by my husband who after many years of living it up as a bachelor came into my life when I was 5 months pregnant and mother of a three year old, single, home owner and alone. He ended up adopting my child I was pregnant with a year later, marrying me around the same time and now we have our “second” child together who is 5 months old. He inspires me to do good, and reminded me there are great men out there still, I am lucky to be married to one!

I am inspired by my sons, my husband and my wonderful friends. My boys are becoming such amazing people, goodhearted, smart and compassionate…they take after their dad….

My 10 year old daughter inspires me. For so many reasons. She struggles with a disorder that you can not “see”. Yet it is so hard on her to be the normal 10 year old girl. Yet she never lets it stop her. She shoots for the stars and often reaches them. Just this week she auditioned to sing in her school talent show. She dreams of being a singer. And she will not let anything stand in her way. She is truly my inspiration to make it through the bad times.

As a kid I watched the civil rights marches on TV and wondered how adults could treat other human beings that way. As an adult now it’s nice to know that we have come so far that Dr. King’s dream has come true.

Different things inspire me at different times in my life, it’s ever changing. What honestly is inspiring me lately are several of my fellow bloggers. It’s the blogs that are honest and sharing of their passions, whether that be about parenting, reviewing, computers, rock collecting, breeding fruit flies, whatever LOL – it’s just that they are so willing to share what they are into and what they enjoy – it inspires me to do the same!

Honestly, I am most inspired by my group of on-line friends on the homeschooling board I’m on. They’re constantly doing creative and/or constructive things that spur me on to do something more, too.

The man who inspires me most is President Obama. He is a Harvard graduate with honors and a very intelligent man who has the beat of America in his back pocket. He has shown black Americans that they too can succeed. I think he has even helped race relations more than any other man since Martin Luther King.
Obama is an environmental president. He is in tune to the 20th century. His trip overseas to repair relations with the Muslim population is a good start to his presidency. I believe he will be the one to improve our economy and help save our struggling environment.

I’m inspired by my parents. They were married for 38 years until Dad died in 81.They held hands on long car rides and couldn’t keep their hands off one another. They were age 15 and 17 when married.Mom called herself a war bride ( WWII ).Mom raised 7 kids that knew they were loved and felt secure.Mom was like a drill sargent ( sp ? ) and always had a clean house. She is still amazing to this day with all of her energy ..Even though she has broken her hip and back twice,Mom continues to be determined and says that you can’t get a good woman down. Thanks for the chance to win ! [email protected]

What inspires me? Blogging inspires me! Before reading blogs I have never been so educated as a parent, housekeeper, do-it-yourselfer, or just a human being! Granted I fail with flying colors on most of my attempts at all the crazy ideas I read on the blogs, BUT I TRIED! That’s what counts…right?
So thank you to all the blogs out there for inspiring me to be more efficient , make more of what I have, and just become a better person…all while not pulling my hair out!

My grandchildren inspire me. They inspire me to be the best “Gramps” I can be…
