Thought so – I mean, what’s not to love? I get inspired to do some sort of household project just walking through their doors.

Here’s another bit of inspiration on a more serious note.

Through Feb. 28, The Home Depot is offering a commemorative “Dream” gift card celebrating the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. When consumers purchase the collector’s edition “Dream” gift card, The Home Depot will donate five percent of all sales to the Center for Civil and Human Rights, up to $1 million dollars. The donation will assist in the building of a permanent exhibition home for his personal writings and papers.

The collection of original documents by Dr. King includes more than 10,000 items, among them 7,000 handwritten notes spanning from 1946 to 1968. They include drafts of his “I Have a Dream” speech, his “Letter from a Birmingham Jail,” other theological writings and his Nobel Peace Prize addresses. The King Papers will be part of the exhibition offering of The Center for Civil and Human Rights. The Dream cards can be purchased at any store, or online at homedepot.com/dream.

Talk about amazing and inspiring, huh?

    My father-in-law inspires me. He was in a mining accident 2 years ago and has lost his left arm & right leg because of it. However, he hasn’t let that stop him do the things that he loves. He is still just as active as he was before the accident & seems to keep such a great attitude even while learning to do things in new ways, such as team roping, cutting his food, or doing up the buttons on his shirt!

    So many things inspire me. Im an amateur photographer, so just being out in the world is inspiring. I notice things I never noticed before through my lens. My photography has allowed me to truly pay attention to my surrounding instead of rushing through life just to get by. when Im snapping pictures I feel like Im learning new things about myself, my skill and my surroundings. It inspires me to see more of the world. to travel. to go to new places in my state even. to explore the back roads and find the hidden treasures of the world.

    The person that inspires me the most is my daughter. She lost her 2 month old baby girl last January to cancer and she never once played the pity card or wanted to know “why her”. She was and is so strong. Never so much as a tiny complaint of sitting at the NICU for 2 months, nothing but praise for the nurses and the way they treated her sweet baby. She stood strong and was the rock for everyone else.
    PS She had a baby boy 12/9/08 and we are thrilled.
