CVS $4 off $20 Beauty Purchase Coupon + Did You Know?

April 16, 2009 by Tara Kuczykowski 32 Comments

cvs logoIt’s been a long time since CVS released a coupon that was valid for the general public. Usually they’re only available to specific cardholders, and sadly I haven’t received any of those in ages. But I’m thrilled to share that there’s a $4 off any $20 Beauty purchase coupon available to us all that’s valid through Sunday, April 19th! (Thanks, Lori!)

So what are your best suggestions for putting this coupon to good use?

Update: Tanya has a great point – use this on the Aveeno deal that starts Sunday!

Upromise.com

Also, were you aware that Upromise offers ecoupons that you can load to your CVS ExtraCare card???

Upromise ecoupons are treated like manufacturer coupons, but unlike most other ecoupons, you can actually use these in conjunction with other paper manufacturer coupons.

The amount won’t come off of your total – instead it’s credited to a college savings account. What a great way to start funding your children’s education without even thinking about it! I just load all of the coupons to my account when I get an email that new ones are available and pretty much forget about it.

So if you’re not registered with Upromise yet, what are you waiting for?

Any idea what is considered a beauty item at CVS? Is it only make-up? Any opinions as to what applies for this coupon besides make-up? Would the softsoap scrub on sale this week apply?

I used the coupon in conjunction with the Aveeno deal that started this week. You can check out what I all got for only $.44 OOP!!

Kim F.-I’m pretty sure it includes lotion, facial products, hair care, make-up and probably some other stuff too :)

Oh, yeah – that’s a great one, Cheryl!

Kim and Wendy, those kind of things are often left up to the individual store. In the past we’ve been able to use them on accessories such as cotton swabs and balls and such. Your best bet is just to ask if something is considered a beauty product or not.

    I noticed the coupon said this . . .
CVS/pharmacy will not accept offers printed from unauthorized internet postings or reproductions, copies, or facsimiles of this offer. Original coupon must be relinquished at the time of purchase. Coupon is void if copied, transferred and where prohibited by law.

Where is this coupons from? Thanks!

I called CVS directly and they said that I could share the coupon. The “unauthorized internet postings” are basically where someone saves the file as a jpg or pdf and hosts it on their own site (instead of printing it from the link that Tara has up).

I think the best use for this coupon will be next week (starting the 19th) at CVS. TREsemme products will be on sale 3/$10, and you get $5 in ECBs if you buy 3 (Limit 2). (I’m going to attempt to use the HTML tags in the comment, so I hope it works!)

    Buy 6 items – $20
    Use $4/$20 coupon
Use 6 of the $1/1 coupons from Marie Claire here

Pay $10 out of pocket (or with ECBs from previous weeks)
    Get back $10 in ECBs!
    FREE after coupons and ECBs!

I just noticed on this week’s ad that the softsoap scrub that is free after ECBs is listed under the heading “Beauty Sale,” so I can only assume that it would apply toward the $4/$20 Beauty coupon. Now to find $15.01 more in products that will apply that I want to buy!

I have to go through my coupons and the circular for the deals but I’m definitely going to get some good stuff!

And yes I knew about Upromise but I didn’t know what you shared above! I knew about loading them onto Safeway cards but not CVS, I’m going to go there now!

    Thanks!

    Attentioner Longs turned CVS Shoppers:
Longs down the street was bought by CVS and they supposedly ‘officially’ became cvs last week but they still have their Longs ad out this week and they’re prices are not matching the CVS ad. Yet I can use my CVS card. I was going to buy the SoftSoap and the other ECB deals but I was afraid that I wouldn’t get the ECB. Anybody else having this problem

I believe that in the CVS ad, the pages are color coded as to what items are considered “beauty”. If you notice in the ad, the background is PINK behind the makeup, soaps, shampoos, etc. and YELLOW behind the mouthwash, vitamins, etc. Hope this helps!

I’m very new to all of this and want to ask a question about the $4/$20 deal. From what I can tell the 3/$10 TREsemme deal is the best senario:
    Buy 6 items – $20
    Use $4/$20 coupon
Use 6 of the $1/1 coupons from Marie Claire
Pay $10 out of pocket (or with ECBs from previous weeks)
    Get back $10 in ECBs!
I only have $2 in ECBs so far. Would the best thing be to use my $2 EBCs on this purchase to only pay $8 for product and receive $10 in ECBs? Also, is it smart to buy items that you would end up getting for free b/c of the ECBs you would get back on it even if you didn’t “need” the item to begin with? Sorry for the long post and thanks for any tips and help!

For those of you who are wondering what is considered beauty, check out the CVS website. I would imagine anything they have listed as beauty there would be the same in store. I checked it out and I was surprised to find that Salon Hair Care (including Shampoos and Conditioners), Candles (Glade and Febreeze listed under Spa), Men’s Razors and Shaving Creams(under Men’s Grooming) and lots more are listed there.

To answer Leila’s question, typically no.. you can’t combine a $4 off $20 with $5 off $25 because your total would have to be $45. It’ll beep at the register. But with this week’s Nivea, Aveeno and BOGO makeup offers, there’s plenty to get you to $45! :)
