Did you know that kids can catch six to ten colds year-round?
I’ve never kept track, but that sounds about right. I don’t think there was a single week this past winter when at least one of the kids was feeling under the weather.
Vicks would like to provide one very lucky Deal Seeking Mom reader with a little extra comfort for both mom and child. They’ve put together a “Vicks VapoRub Comfort Care” gift basket valued at $450 filled with Vicks VapoRub along with some other favorite items to make children more comfortable. The basket includes a plush Little Giraffe blanket, classic children’s books and lullaby CDs. And don’t think they forgot about Mom, especially with Mother’s Day a few days away! They’re also including a 100% cashmere wrap, some favorite soothing skincare items from L’Occitane and a manicure/pedicure kit.
For child:
- Vicks VapoRub
- Chenille Blanket
- Soothing lullaby music
- Assortment of children’s books: Corduroy, Harold and the Purple Crayon, The Giving Tree, The Little Prince
For mom:
- Nordstrom Cashmere Sweater Knit Wrap
- L’Occitane Shea La Vie Gift Set and Hand Cream
- Sephora Professional Manicure/Pedicure Nail Kit
- Essie Spa Pedicure Mini Kit

As far back as I can remember in my family, we have always done chicken noodle soup, sherbert (has to be the rainbow kind!) and a nice spread on the couch of blankets and pillows, and then you pop in their favorite movie, and it works like a charm everytime. and don’t forget a nice glass of sprite. the works!! :)

I’m actually sick right now, so i wish i had that stuff :) I like to hop into a warm bath to help me feel better. It also helps my daughter to take a nice warm bath and then take a nap.

A soft blanket and PBS for the kids…me closed in my bedroom and a helpful hubby with the kids for me. That’s what helps us when we are sick.

When my little one starts to get that funny little cough (which almost always leads into a bigger cough!!) at night, before she goes to sleep, I put vicks on the bottoms of her feet, than put warm socks on her, and in the morning.. the cough is GONE (!) true!! it really works!! (not sure why.. but happy that it does!) :)

I run right out to the market and buy Ginger Ale, Saltine crackers, and flavored teas when my kids get ill, and when my husband and I need a little TLC. I like to set the dvd player up and put on Disney movies to make everyone feel happier.

I usually comfort myself with a glass of wine when my 5 year old has a cold. LOL! But for him I do use Vicks on his chest…just like my grandmother did for me.

When my son is sick, we cuddle on the couch so he feels loved. I seem to stay “healthy” even when we do this.
