Clorox ToiletWand Giveaway + $5 Coupon for Everyone!

October 19, 2009 by Tara Kuczykowski

1010066176

Clorox continues to introduce products to make cleaning and disinfecting easier, and the ToiletWand is no exception. Cleaning toilets is definitely high on my list of chores that I detest. It’s an icky job and one that I have to do frequently with the number of people in our household.

The Clorox ToiletWand took much of the ick factor out of this chore. I give it high ratings for its ease of use and convenient and clever storage. The holder keeps the wand and refills right next to the toilet in an attractive manner, and the refills pop off easily when you’re done cleaning so you never have to touch them with your hands. My toilets were sparkling and clean in minutes.

So what’s the downside? At $10 for the starter kit, it’s a little on the pricey side. This is only enough for six toilet cleanings, so you’re definitely going to get more bang for your buck with a standard toilet brush and cleaner.

Find out more about all of the Clorox cleaning products at Clorox.com.

Three (3) lucky Deal Seeking Mom readers will win Clorox ToiletWand Kits!

To enter, share your best bathroom cleaning tip. Do you have any tips or tricks to make this dreaded chore easier?

You can also join the Clorox ToiletWand Twitter Party on 10/23, from 10-11 p.m. EST, for three more opportunities to win a ToiletWand kit, plus a chance to win a $100 Visa Gift Card. Sign up for your chance to win the Visa Gift Card at Consumer Queen.

If you want to weigh the convenience versus price benefits for yourself, you can print this $5/1 Clorox ToiletWand Kit printable (IE) or printable (FF) to save on the starter kit. Of course I’ll be on the lookout for store match-ups to make it an even better deal!

To help keep my shower walls clean and free of mildew, I squeegie them down after every shower, just like I do the glass door and wall. It doesn’t completely dry the walls, but it does a lot to remove most of the water and help keep the soap scum, mildew and other nastiness away.

I keep a dollar store squeegie in each shower, and on my way out, I wipe down the walls. I also leave the overhead vent on to suck out all the moisture.
I also keep paper towels and an all-purpose cleaner under the sinks in our bathrooms, so I can do a quick “sweep” occasionally.
For the toilet seats, I keep a can of wipes, usually with bleach, to wipe down the toilets.

When I get mildew in the caulking around the tub, I drench a papertowel with bleach, fold it and push it into the crease where the mildew is and leave it. Come back in 1-2 hrs and WALLAH! No more mildew! I love it.

Any tips? No, no tips…I use the squeegee, and I wipe down the counters every week with a clorox wipe…that’s about it. However, I do know that my husband will actually clean the toilets with the disposable brushes – so maybe that’s a tip-get disposable brushes and husbands will help out more? :) lol

    thanks

My best bathroom cleaning tip? EASY and EFFORTLESS! Send hubby in with cleaning supplies and tell him NO FOOTBALL until it’s done.

When my shower curtain gets dirty/moldy, instead of throwing it out and buying a new one, I just throw it in the washing machine. Wash as you would a load of laundry, including laundry detergent. When done, hang back up on the curtain rod to dry. An added bonus is it smells wonderful for several days afterwards!

I love to use baby wipes to wipe up the floor. They pick up hair and other dust so easliy, don’t just push it around.
