April 24, 2009 by Tara Kuczykowski 10 Comments

Care.com Free Weekend

Care.com is offering free membership this weekend!

Every visitor to Care.com during the Free Weekend (4/24-4/26) will have the opportunity to experience the benefits of paid, premium membership for free.

  • Post jobs
  • Review the full profiles of caregivers in your area
  • Contact care providers to schedule interviews
  • Check references
  • Run a free background check.

This certainly sounds like a great deal. We’ve never left our kids with anyone other than the grandparents. Has anyone ever tried their service?

I haven’t used this service but I have used a professional service before and the sitter provided was getting her masters in early childhood education and showed up with a tote bag full of crayons, coloring books, puzzles etc. When we got back to the hotel the children were tucked tightly in bed with the sheets smoothed and pillows on the floor next to the baby in case he rolled out of bed. My DH and I joked they were in better care w/ her than us.

I’m on the site as a nanny. I would recommend it ;-)

I used the service to find our current babysitter. The site provides background checks and taped interviews. I also called the references. We were very pleased with the service.

Nancy, every coupon site has proprietary software, so there’s not one specific piece of software that you can download that will allow you to print from all sites. Unfortunately, you just have to install whatever software is necessary on the site you’re trying to print from.

I am currently a sitter on this site- its oober safe- much more user friendly than Sittercity… Lots of parents looking for sitters if your considering being a caregiver. You can become a caregiver for free you just won’t have a premire listing- so don’t think you have to pay the $10 in order to become a caregiver… FYI

I am a service provider on this site, and I love it! They gave me a free background check and potential clients love it.

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
