Earth month is winding down now, but I’ve got a huge giveaway that will help you maintain your green efforts long beyond just this month. Included in this giveaway are the following items:
- Bissell Little Green Machine
- Clorox Greenworks Cleaners
- White Cloud Recycled Paper Towels and Toilet Paper
- Brita Water Filter Pitcher
- Tide Cold Water Detergent – not pictured
I had the opportunity to try these products out myself, and I’ve been very pleased with all of them. I think of all of them, the Bissell Little Green Machine is my favorite because it makes cleaning up all of those little kid and pet messes so easy and convenient. The most surprising would be the White Cloud recycled paper towels and toilet paper. I was suprised by how soft they were!

My favorite simple green tip is to do the laundry in cold water. I rarely have any stain issues at all with this (once in awhile I do a warm load for a bad stain or two) and it saves lots of energy!

My fave simple tip is to use a vinegar/water solution to do my simple cleaning. It’s completely non-toxic/chemical free and does the job! I also use it in my Scooba to mop the floors. Works wonderfully!
I added your button to my blog, joined the forums(thunderbug548) and subscribed too.

I rarely dry my own clothes, I find that they keep their color and last longer if I hang them up around the house to dry.

One way I went green is by using microfiber clothes instead of papertowels to wash windows. I also use a green cleaner to make my own window wash.

I love using vinegar as a natural cleaner. I also use all “green” cleaning products that are very concentrated, saving packaging waste and eliminating chemicals.

In an effort to save money on our electric bill I switched my plan here in IL . I pay the wholesale rate instead of the flat rate. This rate changes hourly and can be checked online. The price is low at night so I program my dishwasher and washing machine to run at 3am. I wash cloth diapers for my triplets every night and dry them early in the morning! Now if I could only get cheap formula!

My favorite green cleaning tip is using newspaper and vinegar to wash my windows instead of cleaner.

My projects lately involve trying to reduce the amount of food waste in our house. I cook at home more now, and I keep a bucket of leftover veggies in the freezer so that I can make soup when I get enough leftovers.

Use vinegar in the wash as a substitute for fabric softener – works great and very inexpensive! Also, add baking soda to the wash for a deoderizer and hydrogen peroxide in place of bleach for whiter whites.

I use plain white vinegar around the house-cleaning, laundry, bath, etc. We also have a composter cookin’ away in the backyard that helps with kitchen waste/yard waste a lot! I also have a collection of reuseable fabric bags that I bring to the grocery store to lessen the amount of plastic that comes home with me.

I try to recycle any and all paper at the house even tags from clothing

My simple green tip is to always carry around your own water bottle. I live in AZ so it is always hot and I am always tempted to buy nice cold water wherever I go, so I take my own with me so I am always hydrated and not buying a million disposable plastic bottles.
Summer
I love to use the reusable shopping bags as well as my handheld Shark “steamer cleaner” to clean around the house without chemicals.

I keep a bucket in my shower. Every time I shower I collect enough water for 2 or 3 toilet flushes. Sounds strange, but I grew up in southern california during years of extreme drought and was taught to ‘save every drop you can’.
Go girl
I never use paper towels. I use old sock, diapers, or t-shirts for cleaning.
