Earth month is winding down now, but I’ve got a huge giveaway that will help you maintain your green efforts long beyond just this month. Included in this giveaway are the following items:
- Bissell Little Green Machine
- Clorox Greenworks Cleaners
- White Cloud Recycled Paper Towels and Toilet Paper
- Brita Water Filter Pitcher
- Tide Cold Water Detergent – not pictured
I had the opportunity to try these products out myself, and I’ve been very pleased with all of them. I think of all of them, the Bissell Little Green Machine is my favorite because it makes cleaning up all of those little kid and pet messes so easy and convenient. The most surprising would be the White Cloud recycled paper towels and toilet paper. I was suprised by how soft they were!

My favorite tip is to dry my laundry outside. We got a laundry dryer (looks like an upside down umbrella without the material) at Home Depot a few years ago. Now, as soon as the weather is nice my laundry air dries!
Natalina
I try to use dish cloths instead of paper towels.

I make most of my own cleaning products. Not only does it save money, but I reuse all of my bottles and buckets so that we are not adding to the landfills. Also, these products are super clean, chemical free alternatives. I totally enjoy simple living!

I recycle as much as possible.
Janaki
i use my own bags when i go for shopping.

Monica already stole my favorite green tip. ;) I love to hang my laundry outside – it’s relaxing, gets me outside while the kids play, and I don’t have to rush to the dryer every time I hear BEEP! I love the smell of line-dried clothes too.

I’ve recycled for years, but now I’m learning to reuse and reduce. Going Green is not that far fetched a concept and really makes sense considering the economy.
The Bissell Little Green Machine would work perfect for the cat messes.
Thanks!

Our home uses green energy from our backyard to heat/cool with a geothermal furnace. We love it!

We just put in new cabinets in our kitchen and I insisted on 2 recycle bins, one for plastic, glass, etc. and the other for paper. I am amazed at how much we used to throw away. We also put in a filtration system for our water so we don’t have to buy bottled water anymore. : )

I try to be green in little ways…even tho you can often get bottled water for FREE with deals, I avoid it. Everyone in my family has their own reusable water bottle and we drink from the tap. Also, we use reusable grocery bags EVERYWHERE, not just the grocery store. I would LOVE the Bissel-with 2 kids and 2 dogs, there is always a mess to be cleaned up.

I would like to enter for the giveaway, please. I just subscribed to your blog today via email (feedburner.)
My favorite green tips are:
1, use a bucket to collect water in my tub before it turns warm for a shower. I will use the water to water my plants. (i just learned this tip in a class).
2, I reuse yogurt cups for everything: put applesauce in them to eat from a big jar, put “boxtops” in them to collect for school, put wet cat food in the wider ones for the rare occasion that I give wet catfood to my kitties.
3, use only cold water to wash laundry in.
Thanks!
Rita

I have started unplugging some of my appliances when not in use. I also am trying to convince my place of employment to cut down on printing mailers and instead posting them on our website.

Instead of plastic bags, bring your own reusable bags when you go grocery shopping. It takes some getting used to, but keep trying.

Commercial baby food uses wasteful individual glass and plastic packaging. I make my own baby food, freeze in ice cube trays and store in the freezer in one reusable freezer bag for 40 servings. More nutritious, money saving and good for the earth.
