Calling all moms of Barbie-lovin’ little girls (or maybe even Barbie-lovin’ moms) . . .
Here’s a great opportunity indulge in your daughters’ love of all things Barbie while teaching her an important lesson in sustainability.
Tomorrow, Saturday, November 8th from noon to 3:00 p.m., Walmart is holding a special “Give Back with Barbie Cares” event. Mattel will be collecting used Barbies (or any Barbie-like dolls) to be used in a pilot program exploring toy sustainability. For each doll collected, Mattel will donate a new doll to a local children’s hospital, up to 100,000 dolls.
They’ve got other fun things planned:
- Take your digital camera and take your daughter’s picture with Barbie using a Barbie & the Diamond Castle backdrop! (Select stores will have a live Barbie. Others will have a cardboard stand-in, so see if your store is on the list.)
- Receive a free coupon to print your photo from the Kodak Picture Maker!
- Get free Barbie-themed swag, including reusable shopping bags!
As a mom with two girls obsessed with Barbie & the Diamond Castle, I think this sounds like a super fun afternoon!
