I stretch my kids’ wardrobes by layering tanks and using zip jackets over shirts to keep warm in the cooler months.

To be honest, your blog and so many others out there have taught me sooo much! Now I hunt down deals (with help of your blog and others, as well as emails) and wait till things go on sale. Plus, they’re quality clothes like Old Navy and The Children’s Place, so they last longer! I also buy clothes at Thrift Stores because you can find great deals there too!

Well some of the things I do is always keep a pair of leggings. It’s the perfect thing to have, you can always add a pair of leggings to an outfit whether to dress it up or down. They are perfect for the times that most students are in school fall and winter, even spring. Plus if you keep a pair of leggings maybe black and brown you can always change your outfit up. And it saves cash! :) Well all I can say now is I hope I win!!! :) and it would mean a lot to me
Oh I’m also an e-mail subscriber, im in the forums, and I’m following you through Twitter :)

I buy long sleeve undershirts so he can wear his short sleeve shirts during the winter too. I also buy him hoodies. Sometimes (if he doesn’t grow too fast and is inbetween sizes), I am able to buy things a little bigger and then he can get two years out of it.

I pass clothes down from older kids to the younger ones. And I look on ebay or craigslist.

We shop at local children’s consignment shops and also hit the “end of summer” sales for basics like t-shirts, leggings, tank-tops. My daughter likes to layer skirts/leggings and tank-tops over long-sleeved and shirt-sleeved shirts. I also try and take advantage of sales and coupons as much as possible.

Layering. We buy long sleeve shirts and layer underneath short sleeve shirts for the fall/winter.

I always try to buy off season so that saves a ton of money. Also, I do layer clothes for them. We buy some plain long sleeve tees to wear under tanks and tee shirts all year round!

We buy a lot of t-shirts and then the kids layer with their favorite hoodies all year.

I purchase plain, long sleeve cotton shirts for my kids. I can usually get them at consignment shops or even thrift stores. When the weather gets cooler, my kids wear them under their short sleeve shirts to extend the life of them.

One great way to stretch my boys wardrobes are hand me downs, but I also layer short sleeves over long sleeves so they more use out of their short sleeves and keep their long sleeves stain free for longer lol.. I’m already subscribed to your emails and love them! Thanks!

To make the most of our money for the kids wardrobe we try to buy to main things, tennis shoes and jeans, at Sears to use the kidvantage program if they get holes or wear them out before they grow out of them. ya gotta hate the holes in the knees of the jeans thing.

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
