Looking for more ways to stretch that back-to-school budget? If so, T.J. Maxx and Marshall’s may just be the way to go. With name brands and high quality clothing at bargain prices, both of these stores get you more for your money, which is a huge help when you’ve got growing kids and changing fashions each season!

To enter, tell me your best tip for getting more out of your kids’ back-to-school wardrobes. Do you layer summer tank tops to get more wear? Do you throw capris under summer skirts to take them into fall?

I shop clearance racks and then try to buy some tops that are slightly larger (depending on the style) to stretch them out for 2 years. My kiddos are thin/small so it works great for many items

My son is the last of 5 boys and believe it or not he loves his big brothers hand me downs. He is also one for layering. So if a t-shirt has a bleach stain he wears a button down shirt over it…. I love boys.

Love to hit JCPenny on the end of the summer clearance/tax free weekend (great combo!) and Penny’s usually has a store coupon on top of that. We also do the trick of getting extra mileage out of old dresses by adding leggings! :)

My best tip: I started a neighborhood clothes swap. We have a lot of kids all about the same age in my neighborhood so when one child grows out of his/her clothes they get passed on to someone else in the neighborhood.

I try to buy a mix of basic and a few special wow itens – like a fancy top over basic solid leggings from a superstore. I also buy a season ahead so i can get sale prices on good quality clothes.

Clearance, clearance, clearance. When you find an excellent deal (say, $2.98 Levis or $1.24 tees at Target), stock up in bigger sizes. Your kid may not wear it tomorrow, but it’ll save you money in the long run.
