New Crayola Crayons were one of my favorite back-to-school supplies as a kid. There was just something about a brand new pack of shiny, multi-colored crayons that inspired me to want to create colorful images of hearts and rainbows and all things sparkly and pretty that the imaginations of young girls conjure up. That waxy scent still takes me right back to the first day of 2nd grade, kind of like the smell of Playdoh reminds me of rainy day fun. . .
I’m so glad that Crayola products have stood the test of time and are now inspiring a new generation of imaginations. And I’m happy to share with you about how you can join in the fun!
Every Tuesday night through the month of August, Crayola is sponsoring “Girls Night Out” on Twitter – the mommy social gathering featuring colorful and engaging discussions on all things back-to-school. Crayola has teamed up with MomItForward.com, the creator of “Girls Night Out” (GNO), to bring you the “Crayola Creativitycast.” The weekly series of GNO discussions will feature a new topic each week like “Affordable Fun 101” and “Back to School Survival Guide,” and all GNO participants will have the chance to win great prizes!
For more details about tonight’s #GNO chat and how to participate, go here.
Don’t worry if you’ve already got plans during these events – you also have the opportunity to win one of four Crayola Creativity Packs right here on Deal Seeking Mom!

I loved crayons

My favorite memory of crayola crayons growing up was actually not growing up but just a few years ago I went on vacation and a fun stop on the way home was the crayola factory in Penn. It was alot of fun to see how the crayons are made and the fun activities they had. I felt like a kid all over again.

I loved (still do!) the smell of crayons and the nice fresh points of a new box. I always loved opening a new box for the first time and looking at the fresh points and tons of pretty colors.

I just registered for your forum. For some reason, I had overlooked this until now.

I was so careful with my crayons as a child so I would not break them. Of course that meant keeping them away from my younger brother. I also was so excited when they added the sharpener.

One of my favorite memories was going to my grandmother’s house where she would always have one of the large box of Crayola’s for me and brand new coloring books! I was also passionate about art (and still am!) and would sit looking at and trying out all of the different colors. It was such fun to me and something so beyond my everyday world!

I loved trying to color with perfection. My crayola Crayons had to be super sharp. My sister and I would have contests to see who could stay in the lines best. I love the way crayons smell.

My favorite memory as a little one w/ Crayola was coloring with my siblings for hours on end. (We didn’t have cable like kids today) :) Also getting a new box of crayons every back to school season.
Thanks for this great giveaway!

I can still remember when I “graduated” up to the big-momma box of crayons with the BUILT IN CRAYON SHARPENER!!! I knew I had finally made it” when I got my first one. I can’t wait to buy the big box of crayons for my little girl…but she’s only 20 months and still eats them. No respect for a classic!!

One of my favorite things to do as a kid was to create “welcome home” banners with my sisters for my dad and mom anytime they would come home (from work, from a trip, from the grocery store haha). We would use Crayola crayons to draw, color, and write on paper and tape them together to string across the doorway or living room and make paper chains decorated with glitter glue and drawings to hang on the chairs and cabinets. My parents never got tired of it and it was always entertaining fun with my younger sisters!
Mandy
I just loved to fill a coloring book with colors! Every page had to be colored to perfection!

I loved using Crayola crayons as a kid. We had a huge tub of them and we’d use them and then use the 64-count box to “sharpen” them!

I’m a perfectionist, so I loved using the sharpener on the back of the Crayola boxes to keep my crayons super sharp!
