Artistic Inspiration Giveaway: Crayola Creativity Packs

August 11, 2009 by Tara Kuczykowski

CrayolaCreativitycast_LOGO

New Crayola Crayons were one of my favorite back-to-school supplies as a kid. There was just something about a brand new pack of shiny, multi-colored crayons that inspired me to want to create colorful images of hearts and rainbows and all things sparkly and pretty that the imaginations of young girls conjure up. That waxy scent still takes me right back to the first day of 2nd grade, kind of like the smell of Playdoh reminds me of rainy day fun. . .

I’m so glad that Crayola products have stood the test of time and are now inspiring a new generation of imaginations. And I’m happy to share with you about how you can join in the fun!

Every Tuesday night through the month of August, Crayola is sponsoring “Girls Night Out” on Twitter – the mommy social gathering featuring colorful and engaging discussions on all things back-to-school. Crayola has teamed up with MomItForward.com, the creator of “Girls Night Out” (GNO), to bring you the “Crayola Creativitycast.” The weekly series of GNO discussions will feature a new topic each week like “Affordable Fun 101” and “Back to School Survival Guide,” and all GNO participants will have the chance to win great prizes!

For more details about tonight’s #GNO chat and how to participate, go here.

Don’t worry if you’ve already got plans during these events – you also have the opportunity to win one of four Crayola Creativity Packs right here on Deal Seeking Mom!

  • 12-ct. Crayola Colored Pencils, which come pre-sharpened with thick, strong lead made to tackle touch projects and art activities
  • Crayola Pip-Squeaks Colored Pencils and Glitter Glue, which give children big color in a small size and are perfect for jazzing up art projects.
  • Crayola Window Crayons, to help let your little ones transform glass surfaces into instant decorations with bright colors that wipe clean with a damp cloth.
  • Tadoodles Washable Crayon Buddies, which are colorful little characters that hold a triangular-shaped crayon that twists up when the tip wears down – perfect for little hands!
  • Crayola Color Explosion Black Extreme Surprises, which comes complete with a stencil sheet and two Broad Tip Color Explosion clear ink markers.
  • Crayola Color Switchers, which are dual-ended markers that allow kids to magically change the colors of their drawings with a swoosh of the “color switch” tip.

Crayola makes it inexpensive and fun to inspire your child with a lineup of school tools that are priced under $9 (with many of the school list must-haves priced under $1.00 at retailers nationwide)!

My favorite memories were of watching my younger sister create her “masterpieces”. She was always the “artist” in the family. My early dreams were for me to write a children’s book and she would be my artist. Of course, all had to be done in crayon, using as many colors as possible.

My favorite memory of using crayola crayons was when I was about 4 yrs old and I had the chicken pocks and was so itchy I was covered from head to toe and I wanted to scatch so bad. My mom was going out and she promised me if I didn’t scratch my chickenpocks she would buy me a coloring book and crayons. I was so excited and could hardly wait for mom to come home. I had crayons but just a little box. When she came home that night she bought me the new big 64 box of crayola crayons. I could’nt believe it when I opened the box and saw all the different colors. I had to try each color out. To this day I still love to sit down with a coloring book and crayola crayons.

I remember my mom coloring with us and I loved when she did that. She was cool enough to put down the duster and spend time with us.

I liked the first day of school and being the only kid with the 64 crayola box with built in sharpener.

I had a baby-sitter growing up that would always color with us in coloring books that she brought with her. I used to think she had the most beautiful coloring in the world. She would outline each shape by pressing down on the crayon. The she would color it in lightly. I was so jealous!

My mom bribed my with crayola crayons (a big box of 64!) to learn to tie my shoes. It worked and we still laugh about it!

My favorite was my best friend and I LOVED to color with crayons. We were both perfectionists about it and would NEVER go outside the lines. To do so would have been blasphemy!! Thanks.

my favorite memory when I was a kid was my brother had to draw us a Christmas tree on a poster board with markers and I was able to “decorate” it (draw ornaments). That was our Christmas tree that year. May not seem like much but it was an ever lasting memory.

I use to love having my mom sit on the floor with me and color. She worked full time so we didn’t have a lot of time to do these things!!
I hope I get these and I can do the same with my kids!

I remember coloring with Crayolas when I was about 4 in my coloring books. I would write my name on the top of the picture. The Crayolas smelled so good. That’s a good memory!
