New Crayola Crayons were one of my favorite back-to-school supplies as a kid. There was just something about a brand new pack of shiny, multi-colored crayons that inspired me to want to create colorful images of hearts and rainbows and all things sparkly and pretty that the imaginations of young girls conjure up. That waxy scent still takes me right back to the first day of 2nd grade, kind of like the smell of Playdoh reminds me of rainy day fun. . .
I’m so glad that Crayola products have stood the test of time and are now inspiring a new generation of imaginations. And I’m happy to share with you about how you can join in the fun!
Every Tuesday night through the month of August, Crayola is sponsoring “Girls Night Out” on Twitter – the mommy social gathering featuring colorful and engaging discussions on all things back-to-school. Crayola has teamed up with MomItForward.com, the creator of “Girls Night Out” (GNO), to bring you the “Crayola Creativitycast.” The weekly series of GNO discussions will feature a new topic each week like “Affordable Fun 101” and “Back to School Survival Guide,” and all GNO participants will have the chance to win great prizes!
For more details about tonight’s #GNO chat and how to participate, go here.
Don’t worry if you’ve already got plans during these events – you also have the opportunity to win one of four Crayola Creativity Packs right here on Deal Seeking Mom!

My favorite crayola memory is:
My mom and I would color really heavily on wax paper, (carefully!) and then put it in the oven for a few minutes, at a super low temperature, and melt it into smoothness. It was beautiful!
Sometimes, we’d swirl the colors with a fork, afterward. Really clever.

I remember sliding down the stairs with an orange crayon and leaving a nice wavy line all the way down the wall. Mom didn’t like it but I thought it was art!

I never stopped making Crayola memories, I’m 50 years old and still love to color to this day! LOL!!! I have a collection of coloring books that I color in often when watching tv or simply just bored with nothing else I want to do! Crayola is the ONLY crayon I use, no other crayon can compare to the quality and color. There IS nothing like a brand new box, the smell, the perfection and precision of each color soldier in the box just does something to me, LOL. I guess some of us never grow up!!

we had a secret compartment in our station wagon where my brothers and i kept our crayons and coloring books for all the long trips we went on because we moved alot.
Nicole
I loved going outside with the sidewalk chalk and drawing all over my driveway.
Nakia
My favorite memory as a kid with Crayola products was simply taking them (old ones without paper) placing them on wax paper and inside a cookie cutter and letting them melt in the sun to make shapes!

My favorite memory was looking forward to the grade when the teacher would allow you to have THE BIG BOX of colors with the sharpener and it was listed on the school supplies list. I felt so limited with just the small basic box of colors. There is no doubt that Crayola is the best brand. The others just don’t compare in quality when coloring!
Amy
My favorite memory is when my sister and I found fossils with our mom and used crayola crayons and some paper to do rubbings of them.
Tracy
My favorite memory of Crayola crayons was not too long ago….I purchased a box for my 2 year-old and thought that I got the washable ones.
Lisa
My favorite memory of coloring when I was young is when my mom drew an outline of us on a big piece of paper and she made my brother, sister and myself color in the pictures of each other.. She told us to color the picture and decorate it with things that made us think of the sibling were we coloring , what made us laugh about the person or what we liked best about them.. We worked on it for hours and had so much fun together.. It was winter and I guess we were getting a little stir crazy cooped up in the house and were arguing a bunch.. There were three of us and were are 15 months apart from each other.. It worked, we did not fight for some time after that..

We are starting preschool this year so this would be perfect addition. My favorite memory is when I got my first box of 64 crayons. I thought I was the coolest kid at school.
