New Crayola Crayons were one of my favorite back-to-school supplies as a kid. There was just something about a brand new pack of shiny, multi-colored crayons that inspired me to want to create colorful images of hearts and rainbows and all things sparkly and pretty that the imaginations of young girls conjure up. That waxy scent still takes me right back to the first day of 2nd grade, kind of like the smell of Playdoh reminds me of rainy day fun. . .
I’m so glad that Crayola products have stood the test of time and are now inspiring a new generation of imaginations. And I’m happy to share with you about how you can join in the fun!
Every Tuesday night through the month of August, Crayola is sponsoring “Girls Night Out” on Twitter – the mommy social gathering featuring colorful and engaging discussions on all things back-to-school. Crayola has teamed up with MomItForward.com, the creator of “Girls Night Out” (GNO), to bring you the “Crayola Creativitycast.” The weekly series of GNO discussions will feature a new topic each week like “Affordable Fun 101” and “Back to School Survival Guide,” and all GNO participants will have the chance to win great prizes!
For more details about tonight’s #GNO chat and how to participate, go here.
Don’t worry if you’ve already got plans during these events – you also have the opportunity to win one of four Crayola Creativity Packs right here on Deal Seeking Mom!

When I was a kid, I could never get enough crayola crayons. My favorite memory was recieving the 64 box after I was admitted to the hospital for a long stay when I was only 6 years old . I loved getting the big pack with the sharpener built in! It meant that I would have plenty of longetvity in my crayons so I could draw pictures for the entire team working on my case. I spent hours working on pictures for the Doctors and Nurses. Not only did it pass the time, they would pst them in the children’s wing around the nurse’s station and they even began giving me drawings ! You can never undersestimate the magic in a box of Crayola Crayons!

My favorite childhood memory of crayola would have to be back to school time, when I was getting my school supplies all gathered up. And seeing those new bright beautiful crayons, and knowing that very very soon I would be able to use them!

As a kid, I loved showing my little brother (of 5yrs) how to color. He would always color things completely wrong- like trees purple and cows pink. Now, as a mom, I love when my two toddlers color- any color on any object!
Rosey
My favorite Crayola memory is going to get a box of 64 crayons with a built-in sharpener. I sure loved the smell of that box for some reason and I loved the sharpener!!!

I was so excited when I finally got the big Crayola box of crayons with the built-in sharpener. No more getting in trouble with my teacher for sharpening crayons with the safety scissors!

My favorite Crayola memory was when I was 6 years old and I was in the hospital for a couple weeks. My Grampa would come and visit me and spend hours coloring with me! When I couldn’t decide which color of Crayon to use from the ‘big box’, he would always say, “Any color is great because they are Crayons”! gosh, that just brought tears to my eyes! lol! Thank you for this neat contest!

I remember my Mom would take the shavings out of the bottom of the 64 box and we would put them between two sheets of wax paper and iron them. Then we would cut out shapes like autumn leaves and hang them in the window like stained glass. Fun!

I remember when some friends at school and I layered neon marker colors and then mailed them to Crayola suggesting they add them to their line up. They didn’t but sent back a very nice letter and some brochures for each of us on the history of the company.
