New Crayola Crayons were one of my favorite back-to-school supplies as a kid. There was just something about a brand new pack of shiny, multi-colored crayons that inspired me to want to create colorful images of hearts and rainbows and all things sparkly and pretty that the imaginations of young girls conjure up. That waxy scent still takes me right back to the first day of 2nd grade, kind of like the smell of Playdoh reminds me of rainy day fun. . .
I’m so glad that Crayola products have stood the test of time and are now inspiring a new generation of imaginations. And I’m happy to share with you about how you can join in the fun!
Every Tuesday night through the month of August, Crayola is sponsoring “Girls Night Out” on Twitter – the mommy social gathering featuring colorful and engaging discussions on all things back-to-school. Crayola has teamed up with MomItForward.com, the creator of “Girls Night Out” (GNO), to bring you the “Crayola Creativitycast.” The weekly series of GNO discussions will feature a new topic each week like “Affordable Fun 101” and “Back to School Survival Guide,” and all GNO participants will have the chance to win great prizes!
For more details about tonight’s #GNO chat and how to participate, go here.
Don’t worry if you’ve already got plans during these events – you also have the opportunity to win one of four Crayola Creativity Packs right here on Deal Seeking Mom!

I’m a subscriber. Some of my favorite memories involve summers with our grandma & grandpa. Grandma always colored with my sister and I. We would design clothes for our paper dolls & grandma would cut them out for us. What fun we had with paper & Crayola crayons!

As a kid we always had a yellow plastic box filled with Crayola crayons. My most vivid memory is the long drive to Nova Scotia with my parents and brother. 2 days in a car with my activity books and Crayola crayons made the trip much easier. To this day, whenever I smell that distinctive scent of Crayola, I think of that vacation.

My mom buying me a big box of crayons for my first day of first grade. It was required to have them for art class! (My mom saved my artwork.)

I always wanted a big box of 64 crayons growing up, with 8 other siblings it was not to be. When my eldest of 4 requested them, I made sure to get them for her, so many color choices and a sharpener what could be better!

There’s just something about a new box of crayons. When I was little I loved the big boxes with all the different color names. My daughter is a huge coloring fan now too. :)

I always wanted the big box of 64 crayons. I think I got it one year but mostly what I remember was that great ‘new crayon’ smell. Maybe that’s why I love new car smell so much:)

I have always loved to color pictures and draw. I find it very therapeutic. I now have three children that love it, as well. My 4th grade daughter told me that her favorite thing about the beginning of the school year is NEW CRAYONS! Ah, a child after my own heart. Thanks for such a great giveaway. My fingers are crossed!!

My favorite memory of crayola growing up was just getting that new box with the sharpener built in. I always got a new box before school and the fact that it had a built-in sharpener made me feel like I was queen!!! There’s something about that sharpener. LOL!!
