Do you get funny stares when using coupons from the staff at grocery stores or other stores? I had two discouraging experiences at Rite Aid when I used manufacturers coupons in addition to store coupons for the same item. I was even asked how my conscience allows me to do that. Well, this is the way I have learnt from DSM (from other fellow moms) to take advantage of offers by making full usage of coupons that are available. What did I do wrong?

You didn’t do anything wrong, Manisha. Unfortunately, sometimes couponing can require you to have a thick skin, but if you stick to the “rules,” you have nothing to worry about. They’re the ones with the problem, and you’ll be laughing all the way to the bank. :)

    Manisha,
I was once asked if I ever thought I was being greedy by a cashier. I said..” No Ma’am. I do not think volunteering for a non-profit organization is greedy at all. In fact, I can get you an application and set you up with the volunteer coordinator with the Rescue Mission and the local food bank if you would like.” She declined gracefully stating that she has 2 jobs and couldn’t find time to volunteer.

The fact is, they do not know what or who you are buying the products for. You could be the activities director for the nursing home down the street or just helping your own friends and family around town. I like to watch their faces when they hear some of the stories I’m willing to share about volunteering.

My local Rescue Mission is always grateful of what I bring in. Don’t let ignorant ppl get to you. They just don’t understand.

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT. Read more.
