Whenever we run out of gift ideas for our four girls to offer the grandparents, my default answer is pretty much “books or something Melissa & Doug”.

When they arrived, my husband and I quickly unpacked the boxes to see for ourselves (the big reveal for the girls will have to wait until Christmas morning!). What I love most is that the sturdy train table offers a place for all four girls to play together, and it can be used not only for the classic wooden train set but also for their doll house, building blocks or as a table for their arts & crafts.

The train set itself offers a ton of possible configurations and is sure to keep them busy for hours, and I have a feeling our 3-year-old will spend most of Christmas Day dressed up as a train engineer!

    We are HUGE Melissa & Doug fans here. My daughter’s favorites are her MANY puzzles, the wooden shape sorter / stacker, and the Melissa & Doug bakery set with cookies — which she doesn’t own yet, but is hoping for one for Christmas. ;-)
    (She plays with it at the OshKosh store for now!)

    My children (a 5 yr old and 2 1/2 yr old twins) love to play with wooden train sets (our local Barnes and Nobles has one)/ They also enjoy playing with Melissa and Doug wooden puzzles and a stacking toy.
