Whenever we run out of gift ideas for our four girls to offer the grandparents, my default answer is pretty much “books or something Melissa & Doug”.

When they arrived, my husband and I quickly unpacked the boxes to see for ourselves (the big reveal for the girls will have to wait until Christmas morning!). What I love most is that the sturdy train table offers a place for all four girls to play together, and it can be used not only for the classic wooden train set but also for their doll house, building blocks or as a table for their arts & crafts.

The train set itself offers a ton of possible configurations and is sure to keep them busy for hours, and I have a feeling our 3-year-old will spend most of Christmas Day dressed up as a train engineer!

    My kids favorite wooden toys are the Doug and Melissa sets we have bought them. My girls love the magnetic wooden dolls. All 3 of my kids love the sandwich and the fruit wooden sets.

    Both of my sons LOVE trains; they have one 3-car train from IKEA that’s wooden, and they play with it constantly. Plus they made a wooden derby car with their dad that they sub in as a train, haha!

    My son loves his Thomas the Train Early Engineers train set. However this is only for up to 3 years so he will need a bigger set!

    We are getting her the wooden Sandwhich Making Set and the sort & Snap Color Match set this year for Christmas from M&D.

    My son loves his wooden blocks! He spends hours building with them and even plays in that center the most at his preK!!

    Our favorite wooden toy is the wooden blocks – the kinds with all different size blocks, arches, and triangles to make buildings and awesome looking towers! My husband and I enjoy building them and our son loves knocking them down!

    My son loves his Melissa & Doug wooden puzzles! Grandma bought him four different ones that make sounds. He loves dumping the pieces out all over the floor and putting them back in place to hear the fun sounds! While he holds the pieces, he likes to tell me what everything is which is quite entertaining in our bilingual home!

    I think the Melissa and doug ice cream set is so cute and my daughter loves it, she makes us ice cream all the time.
