Whenever we run out of gift ideas for our four girls to offer the grandparents, my default answer is pretty much “books or something Melissa & Doug”.

When they arrived, my husband and I quickly unpacked the boxes to see for ourselves (the big reveal for the girls will have to wait until Christmas morning!). What I love most is that the sturdy train table offers a place for all four girls to play together, and it can be used not only for the classic wooden train set but also for their doll house, building blocks or as a table for their arts & crafts.

The train set itself offers a ton of possible configurations and is sure to keep them busy for hours, and I have a feeling our 3-year-old will spend most of Christmas Day dressed up as a train engineer!

    My son has M&D wooden blocks that he loves. He can play with them for hours! He builds things, and hauls them with his toy tractors and trucks.

    My son LOVES his wooden puzzles and blocks. He enjoys building towers and knocking them down. Classic boy activity. :)

    At one time one of my older kiddos had a Melissa & Doug train or car set (I think it was a train) that used stacking blocks and shapes to form the cars. We loved that thing because it could be used in many different ways!
