Olive Hoop Necklace

Who knew that old, broken glass could be turned into such beautiful jewelry? I get tons of compliments on my Olive Green Hoop Necklace. People are shocked when I tell them it came from a vintage wine bottle.

Therein lies the true beauty of these pieces. Each one is utterly unique and has its own personal story behind it, which is included with each jewelry piece. The only problem is you’ll find it tough to choose just one item with such an array of styles and colors.

More About Bottled Up Designs
An avid glass and bottle collector, Laura Bergman spent countless hours poking through the many old glass and bottle dumps scattered throughout the natural wooded habitats and rural farmlands in Pennsylvania. However, seeing the beauty and the history in the broken glass left behind, decided to pick up the pieces and turn them into something beautiful again.

    Hi,
I recycle ink cartridges!! I have to buy them any way and I get a little back for them when I turn the in at my office supply store. I also make cd clocks for my friends who love music and have everything, but a cd clock made especially for them!
    Thanks,

I recycle as much as I can and am currently working with our builder as we remodel to take our old aluminum siding to a recycler instead of going to the landfill.

Umm I don’t know that we recycle that much. I donate my magazines to local daycare/preschool places because they use them for crafts.
I try not to have much leftover to recycle. I did away with paper towels and napkins 9 years ago opting instead for cloth products that can be washed and reused. I don’t use disposable plates or cups and I don’t buy soda or anything so. So I guess my goal is more to not have the waste that needs recycling. :)

I am new to the whole “upcycling” thing, because we used to recycle, but they discontinued it where we live. We have been trying to find uses for all sorts of things now! We have been saving 2-liter bottles to make a bowling alley for the kids!

I recycle all paper, #1 and #2 plastics (all our county program takes:*() , glass, aluminum and steel cans. We have tried to create a life of less so we don’t have a ton to trash or recycle. I definitely upcycle when I can although I can’t think of anything grand I have done lately! Oh, I have used jelly jars for toothbrushes, cotton balls, Q-tips in the bathroom!

We have curbside recycling for paper, 2 plastics & cans. We drop off cardboard in town & take CFL bulbs to Home Depot. We also purchase a lot of our attire through garage sales & accept hand-me-downs (even the adult sizes!). Thank you.

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
