Soulful Giveaway: Win Seal’s Latest CD Soul

by Tara Kuczykowski on December 17, 2008 · 182 comments

seal_soul_albumThe hustle and bustle of the holiday season has really been taking its toll lately.

As you can imagine, I don't get a whole lot of "me" time as a mom of five, so I've learned to work in short bursts of relaxation when I can throughout the day to prevent myself from being overwhelmed by everything.

One of my favorite methods for relaxation lately is just taking a few minutes to listen to Seal's latest CD, Soul. I close my eyes and just become one with the music, and after about 15 minutes I've regained most of my sanity and am ready to tackle life head on again.

Soul features eleven classic soul songs, and I truly feel like there's something here for everyone. If you'd like to hear a taste, just check out the widget in my sidebar!

One lucky Deal Seeking Mom reader will win a copy of Soul so he or she can kick back and relax a little, and as an added bonus, you'll receive these great little Lego iPod speakers from
(I'm so jealous of these – I think they're just adorable!)

I throw myself into my recliner, have a good cup of coffee or chai tea to sip on and if I'm lucky throw on a great movie to watch. I also do some deep breathing which really helps me unwind!

Thanks so much

A half-hour on the stationary bike or a glass of red wine - sometimes, both (well, not at the same time).

My husband works out of town during the week, so sometimes I have to wait a few hours, but once the kids are in bed, it's MY time! I love to curl up on the couch with the computer and just surf aimlessly and catch up on my blogs.

8 Brenda S. December 17, 2008 at 10:55 pm

Hot shower with handmade soap, fresh soft pajamas and lotion on my feet.

9 Evelyn December 17, 2008 at 11:25 pm

I never seem to have time for myself -- but on those days that I manage to get some time for myself, I love to take a long hot shower. Pamper myself -- deep conditioning treatment, facial, etc. Then I sit down with my favorite book or look through my new magazines and try to get some reading.

I'm really not good with taking time for myself, especially since I breastfeed. I try to get my mom to go shopping with me once or twice a month and make hubby watch the kids, that's about all I can get away for...

My husband keeps the kids in the family room downstairs while I hit the bubble bath upstairs with a drink and a book. Half an hour and I'm back to normal. ;-D

My favorite way to unwind after a long, hard day is to run a hot bath, light my favorite incense and candles, pour a glass of Alize, and play soft jazz in the background as I rest my head on a cushy bath pillow!

19 Cindi December 18, 2008 at 2:06 am

What a wonderful giveaway prize drawing. I had heard of Seal as a singer and as the husband of Heidi Klum. His voice is remarkable! Rewinding for me comes in the form of yoga, reading the Bible, a hot bubble bath
and /or sitting on our front porch and just taking in the view. Thanks for the chance to win the CD and adorable speakers. Cindi

26 Littlemissknowitall December 18, 2008 at 10:08 am

I learned long ago to schedule in times of quiet. Every morning I have 15 minutes set aside while the kids eat breakfast to be alone in my room. I get time to pray and just have some quiet. I love to sit in my chair and look at the tree right outside the window, watching the birds play in the tree. That simple 15 minutes really grounds me and reminds me its the simple things, the things we can't even really provide ourselves, that really bring peace and happiness!
