Protect Your Photos Giveaway: Picture Keeper Digital Photo Storage Device

by Tara Kuczykowski on January 8, 2009 · 477 comments

Picture KeeperThe holidays are over, and if you're anything like me you've probably got dozens, if not hundreds, of digital photos stored on your computer right now. If you're also like me, you probably worry from time to time about losing them. Backing them up to CDs can be time consuming and tedious with much of the software I've tried.

So I was thrilled when Picture Keeper sent me their little gadget to try. It's a fantastically simple way to safeguard irreplaceable digital photos. You just plug the little USB device into your computer, and it does all the work for you. It finds all of the pictures stored on your computer and saves them safely to the device. The next time you plug it in, it only pulls in new photos so you never had to worry about duplicates! You can even schedule back up reminders on their site, which this busy mom definitely needs.

The Picture Keeper comes in two sizes, 4GB which holds 4,000 pictures and 8GB which holds 8,000 pictures. If you're not sure which size you would need to store your photos, check out their tutorial.

Through January Picture Keeper is offering readers $15 off with the code DealForMoms. This makes the 4GB Picture Keeper only $25! I think that's a price well worth the peace of mind that comes from knowing my photos are secure outside of my computer (assuming one of the kiddos doesn't run off with the device, LOL).

Better yet, Picture Keeper has graciously given me an 8GB Picture Keeper to give away to one lucky Deal Seeking Mom Reader. I love it when companies let me share these fabulous products with you all!

To enter share a little bit about your favorite photo(s) are that you'd put on your Picture Keeper!  I know I've got a lot of photos that I'd be upset over losing, but there are some that I'd be absolutely devastated over.

Every reader has three methods available to enter this contest. Choose one each of any combination of method one, two, or three for up to a total of 3 entries!!!

I would store my many moments captured of all my family. These are priceless.
Ask yourself - If my house were on fire what are some of the things I would grab? One is usually "my photos" Why- because they are priceless and cannot be rebuilt like a house can!!!!

If i had one of these cool Picture Keepers i would borrow my moms scanner and all of her photo albums and start scanning away!! She doesn't even store these special photos safely and i would love to have copies of them to make photo crafts and scrapbooks for her and my brothers. We would also use it to store my boyfriends band/concert pictures:)

Last year, I spend literally hours - probably days - scanning in our family photos so I could "permanently" store the others away. I then loaded them onto a digital frame for all to enjoy. These files were lost once when my computer crashed. Yes, I rescanned everything! I need the Picture Saver. Thanks for the chance to win.

What a great idea! As a mom & grandma, I would dearly love to win
this Picture Keeper to keep my pictures safe. But, if I don't win, I
plan to buy one for me & a couple to give as gifts.

I just lost our Christmas photos due to a computer virus, so really want a way to make sure it doesn't happen again. There are photos of my kids with my dad, who has since passed away, that are probably the most precious to me.

I love to take pictures. Some of my favorite pictures can't be replaced...especially those candid shots of my daughter through the years. I have some wonderful vacation pictures that I would love to save forever, too.

I have a lot of family pictures of my daughter and her school pictures. I have many family vacation pictures and many pictures of family members who live far away and I don't get to see except on holidays.

I would love to have this Picture Keeper! I have so many pictures that no body gets to see because they are all stored on my computer. I have a 7 yr old step daughter that loves to be photographed. I also have a bunch of pictures of my 3 yr old neice & nephew and I am about to be an auntie again, so there is another baby that I will be taking a million pictures of. I want my family and friends to be able to see all of our photos! I love sharing out pictures but hate pulling out my computer every time I want to show them off. I would print them out, but that gets expensive and then where do I put them all? I really really would love to win this!!!!! Thanks for giving me this chance!

I am also a e-mail subscriber!

A message will be delivered to books(dot)n(dot)[email protected](dot)com if the publisher has produced new content on that day. No new content, no email for you - I think I'm subscribed under my other e-mail as well, but I don't want to share it, so I'm only entering once. I just found you a couple of days ago and it's been GREAT! Please enter me in your contest.

I have so many family get together pics that I would hate to lose. I once lost pics of my daughter's 10th birthday when my PC died and I was so upset. This would have been a lifesaver!
