what is Catalina?
Is it Amp or Monster drinks at my ktoger in Saginaw Michigan AMP is NOT part of the mega sale but monster is? could anyone tell me if they got the catalina for this sale. unless I am buying or looking at the wrong size here the cost is 229 for a single amp 50 gents off makes it 179 a can
Pat, a catalina is a coupon that prints out of a special machine separate from your receipt when you purchase a certain combination of products. The one for this deal is triggered when you buy 10 of the AMP Energy Drinks and can be redeemed for a $10 Kroger gift card.

Are you sure this will work at all Krogers ( and not just the one listed above that this happened at)? It's worth it if this is true, but if it doesn't work I will be upset...I'm looking at my Kroger paper right now and it has these drinks listed at .99...and nothing about a $10 gift card...Could someone please help me out???

The signs are in the store. Unfortunatly at the Gerbes/Dillions Kroger, these drinks are $2.49 before the mega discount.
Can't wait to try this out! I usually buy Monster energy drinks in bulk from Sam's Club, which round off to about $1 per 16oz drink. Compared to my usual cost, this deal is fantastic even without coupons!
The catalina is not mentioned on the shelf, just the fact that the Amps are included in the Mega Event. However, if your store is participating in the Mega Event sale, a catalina for a $10.00 gift card will print when you purchase 10 Amps. It will not actually be a $10.00 oyno coupon, it will be a coupon to take to the service desk and exchange for a gift card. The gift card expires 8/31.
Also, most drugstores (CVS, Walgreens, RiteAid) have had tearpads for .40 off Amp. They have the drugstore name on them, but are actually manufacturer coupons.
I did this at the Terre Haute, IN store today it cost my $11.?? and then I took my catilina to the desk and got my gift card for $10.00 only problem I had was the cs lady thought my catilina was a copy?? but once I showed her my receipt and explianed she was ok with it.
i did the deal at krogers in latonia Ky and it worked. They where all out on the shelf but look for coolers in the store. That is where i had to get mine and I did get the 10 dollar gift card also.
This deal worked in AZ! They were free after the gift card they gave after the transaction.

Just got back from Kroger -did two seperate transactions/same kroger card and got 20 amps and some organic lemonade for $18. It was after hours so the cashier told me to take my catalina's to the service desk tommorrow when they are open again. (I had 4 -$1.00 off Amp coupons from a gas station I think, and 75 cents off my lemonade coupon which was $1.50). Anyway, if they give me the gift cards tommorrow as promised -I will have made $2.00 and got 20 FREE Amps! Whoo Hoo! Note: The catalina $10 coupon printed right after I scanned the 10th drink-not after I cashed out. I am gonna get 10 more tommorrow-if they give me my gifts cards okay, why not if they are free! I live in WA state and there are no Kroger's, but... There are QFC's and Fred Meyers grocery stores that are OWNED by Krogers with Kroger brands in them... And QFC is having a mega sale including AMP drinks for $1 if you buy 10, do you think this would work there? Anyone?
I was at Kroger the other day to purchase vitamin water and tried to use Q's that had a speedway logo on them and I got told by a cashier and two managers that they could not accept them cause it said "offer available at speedway",and that they would not get reimbursed by speedway. I thought kroger took competitors coupons? Maybe i'm wrong.

It is True...the AMP are on Deal and the Catalina is Good in ALL Kroger Banners including Ralph's etc! Not only that, but when you get the coupon, you also get an Oppty to sign up on line getonthehood.com to be on DALE JR's Hood (only for us Kroger Shoppers) for the upcoming AMP 500 in November...Outstanding. That's interesting... unfortunately, this means people could cheat the system by ringing 10 AMPs in the self check-out and then deciding against the purchase, but taking the catalina printout anyway. I wonder if that's why the employee at Jess R's customer service desk asked for her receipt?

Amy S - The deal was still active yesterday - well, technically today - in ZIP 76208. I stopped by Kroger around 1AM after work and bought 10, paid $10.74, and got my catalina printout for the $10 giftcard. More people are catching on to the fact that they're essentially free (you just pay tax minus $0.10) so the supply is dwindling fast. The Kroger near my work is completely out (or they are very well hidden!), but the Kroger near my home still has cases of AMPs stacked on an end aisle next to the regular sports drink aisle.
EJ - You can reuse the same Kroger gift card to load your $10 balance on. I had a previously-used gift card with $4.80 left on it. The cashier scanned the barcode on the back of the card, added $10 to the balance, and then scanned the catalina, so now my card as $14.80 on it. However, I don't know if you can load multiple catalina offers at the same time. The cashier may have to ring them in separate transactions.
