Kmart: Super Double Coupons Return 4/4

After a long drought for Kmart Super Double Coupons (last one was September!), I'm excited to share with you that they'll be hosting a super doubles event starting Sunday, April 4th!

You can check the Kmart master list (PDF) to see if your local store is participating. It looks like all of the Columbus, OH area stores are on it!

Terms and conditions:

  • Manufacturer Coupons up to $2
  • Does not include Kmart Store Coupons
  • Does not include Kmart Pharmacy Store Coupons
  • Limit 5 total coupons per customer per day
  • The first 5 coupons provided by customer will be doubled.

In the past they've been pretty lax about limiting the number of coupons per customer, so it will be interesting to see how that plays out.

Thanks to everyone that wrote me about this!

I have heard coflicting information on different sites that in order for your coupons to double you will have to have their Shop Your Way Rewards card. Do you know if this will be the case?

If it is the case that you need the card I have heard that this is how they will limit you to 5 per customer per day because the card will only do 5. Is that possible?

I know for me that my KMart is far enough away that 5 coupons only will not be worth it.

Wasn't there a limit on how many coupons doubled lat time around? I believe it was 10, but most Kmarts I visited did not enforce this. Also, while Kmart store coupons do not double can we still match them up with the coupons that DO double?

I haven't heard that, Kristy. The email that a reader forwarded me from customer service didn't make any mention of the Shop You Way card. It just outlined the terms and conditions I listed above. Maybe another reader will come along with more info!

Yes, there was a limit last time and it wasn't enforced by all stores. And yes, you can pair a doubled manufacturer coupon with a store coupon.

Yes, you will have to use your Kmart rewards card, which means they can track and enforce the limit of 5 doubled coupons per rewards card per day. Here's the email I received...

time to get an additional shopping card under my husband's name to maximize the coupons per day. In a way I guess that helps assure that the shelves wont be cleared by a couple people the first few hours like in the past :) I wonder if that means SYWR card limits use per store or the whole national chain on the 5 coupons per day?. we may be going to in laws that day and there are 4 kmarts on the way ;)

Sounds to me like their card should be called shop K-Marts way, because my way would not be to drive 45 minutes to use 5 coupons! Dont' get me wrong, if I had to make the drive in to Fort Wayne anyway, I would gladly take my 5 coupons and use them, thankfully but I will not be making that trip in just for the fun of it to shop, and that's my way!!

I like the Kmart card, I have won several things (small, but still they were free) with mine, and they give you a % back, like the CVS ECB do. There are not enough things I would buy at Kmart though to complain about the 5 coupon limit, and with 3 kmarts near by, I can go back over the week period if they have a good sale on something I want to combine with a coupon.

I am super excited to hear about this. I have a ton of diaper coupons I haven't used yet because everytime I go to buy them I forget to use them. I'm a terrible coupon-er. LOL! Thanks for posting this! I'll be stocking up!

Raquel,

Look again. The stores are organized by some sort of system that looks like it may be regions grouped together, and then they are alphabetical within the groups. At first, I did not see Columbus (OH) when I looked, but then I scrolled down further and noticed that it started with As again, so I kept scrolling, went through a couple of A-Zs and finally found Columbus. Try doing that and see if maybe Cleveland is further down on their list.

Is this like a Kmart credit card? How do you get it, is there an annual fee of any sort?

Reply

17 Katie March 11, 2010 at 3:30 pm

no, it's not a credit card, i is astore "rewards" card, like CVS Extra care card, or your grocery store card. they usually havw the the things to sign up as soon as you walk in on a table (at all my stores, they do), but if not, you can ask at Customer Service. The card is on the paper, and you fill out your info and give it to the cashier. you don't get a discount like you would at the grocery store on items, but you get points that accumilate and they give you a percent back in Kmart gift cerfiticates (just like CVS does) and you will get double rewards for certain things, and more percent on back for certain departments (cosmetics I think you get more)

oh, and when they scan it at the register (when you make a purchase) you could win something, it could be something as small as a candy bar, or something like a washing machine!!

Great advice ladies! I do not normally shop at Kmart but will for this deal. Do they have competitive prices? I will probably be buying diapers, wipes and cleaning products.

I had trouble spotting my store on the list at first too, but you should be able to type the city in the search box to find yourself on the list.

Do all the KMart stores offer that card? We only have one anyone near our area, and I have never seen any info on a rewards card....

Okay I went to KMart website and clicked the link for the Shop Your Way rewards card.......it's no good. Guess I will have to have my husband stop by the store on his way home from work one day.

I just went to Kmart.com and registered online for the shop your way card. I had no problems registering and was even able to print a temporary rewards card while I wait for the real deal! Thanks for the great posts!

ETA I meant the link for the card on the KMart and Sears websites. Not the link for the pdf file.

The kmart rewards card allows them to add a designated amount of money per item bought at the store. For example, .05 may be added for a bottle of body wash etc. The money accumulates on your card and when you are ready to redeem them you let the cashier know. I had over $20 from hitting the store last year during double coupons and I doubt I even spent that much. Make sure you get one!!

you can sign up and read about everything at shopyourwayrewards.com
Kelly, I am glad you posted that, b/c I didn't know they changed the way you redeemed your rewards. when they first started, I got Kmart GC's at the end of the reward period, and I guess maybe that changed when they sent out the new cards. good to know!! thanks!

Oh well! Jokes on them this time! I'm coming armed with my temporary card and coupons!

I hope we get some good match ups!

I did not see my store right away, you need to really look. All of the Chicago Suburb stores are listed under Chicago.
Just applied formy Kmart reward card. Looking forward to the doubles.

So if the doubled coupon totals more than the price of the product, then is Kmart allowing for overage?

I love Kmart, unfortunately, here in california, where I'm at, they won't double :( agh!

Do kmarts do price matching? I got some great deals at another store w/ double coupons and price matches!

Okay, I'm a new coupon-er - so let me get this straight - on April 4th - you can basically use one manufacturer coupon twice for the same item? And you can also use a Kmart coupon on that item as well? but the man. coupon can't be worth more than $2? Or is it more than $1 for the coupon meaning when it's doubled it won't be more than $2 off? Thanks!

33 Katie March 20, 2010 at 8:16 am

Kmart in my area jsut started the reward card in the last few months. The card can be used at any kmart or sears store, so going to multiple stores in one day to try to use more coupons won't work. They are all connected throught the reward card. And yes, people do wipe out the shelves and then the employees get yelled at for not having the product when it's not their fault that a bunch of people have coupon for a particular product. So, people, keep in mind when you do your shopping that its not the employess fault or their rule. They are just doing their job.

Sabrina,
A $2.00 manufacturer's coupon will double to $4.00 and if you have a kmart coupon for the same item you can use that too, but ONLY one Kmart coupon per order.

Reply

35 katie April 1, 2010 at 11:21 am

if it doubles uo to $2, that means the highest value coupon that will double is a $1 one. So, a $1 coupon will get you $2 off, .50 cents will get you $1 off...
Like when you see that Kroger doubles up to $1, that doesn;t mean they will double your $1 coupons to $2, it means they will double your coupons UP TO $1, no more than $1

36 Tara Kuczykowski April 1, 2010 at 12:37 pm

Actually, in Kmart's case, they mean that they will actually double coupons that have a face value of up to $2 making them up to $4 in savings!

I went to the Kmart in syracuse Ny Erie blvd store today and they are stating they are not doing the double coupons. It doesn't state it in the ad they are doing it either but they are on the master spread sheet. Does anyone know anything about it?

Roberta- from what i've gathered they didn't advertise this time anyplace. Kmart computers are very smart though and from what I understand will still automatically double. The other thing you can do it call customer service and ask them, tell them your store is on the master list but you were told they are not taking part. I've heard several times today that customer service is calling and informing the store. In all honesty I figure the computer would know better then the people. My store had no idea till I showed up yesterday morning and the computer did it. Thankfully I know my cashiers pretty well (went to HS with them).

Thanks for the tip about calling customer service. My local Kmart was on the master list but when I called them, they claimed they were not participating. I called customer service and they verified they were on the master list, placed me on hold, and called the store manager and said they are excepting the double coupons. She said to call them right from the store if they give me any issues and customer service will take care of it right away.

Dizzy Mommy - you're right about the smart computers - they automatically doubled the coupons and even adjusted them when there was an overage.

My big deal was Right Guard Defense Deodorant for free - Kmart has it on sale for 2 for $5, and I had $1.50 off coupon, which doubles to make it free. As I said, the computer automatically made the adjustment, giving the value of the coupon and making the "double" $1.

I also got Frosted Mini Wheats - they were 2 for $5 as well and I had a $1.50/1 coupon, which made the cereal $1 per box.
(I couldn't find any of the cereals I had coupons for at this Kmart)

I got some Good Life recipe cat food for about $1.69. I either had a $1 or $2 off coupon for that. I have a $2/1 dog food coupon, but I couldn't find it there.

I was hoping to use my Milk Bone long lasting dog treats $2 coupons, but they did not have that product. I ended up getting Snausages for about $1. I think I had a $1/1 coupon and it was about $3 for the bag of treats.

I used my Tropicana BOGO coupon because it expires soon, but that did not double.

Where do you guys get Kmart coupons, though? My mom printed off some from their site, but they appear to be mfr coupons. I did get a few "catalina" coupons from my purchase, but those are listed as mfr coupons as well.

Went to the Kmart in Modesto, CA. My coupons didn't double and the store didn't know about it even though this store shows up on their PDF as one that is participating. I guess I'll call first next time.

The Kmart stores in Montana aren't on the list-what do I do?? The Customer Service reps did not know anything about coupons. Also, where can I find out about the store's coupon policy?? Thanks a bunch and happy shopping!
