I love to add beans to most dishes, on salads, tossed in pasta with sauce, in slowcooker recipes – just a handfull here and there really adds flavor, texture, and nutrition. Now info on lessening the gas – THAT would be welcome ;)

There are three things I love to make with beans:
1. Red beans and rice on a crispy, cold salad with ranch dressing.
2. White beans with a can of diced tomatoes/garlic/olive oil, onions and bell peppers. Then top pasta with it.
3. Lentilloaf…it’s like meatloaf but with slightly smooshed, cooked lentils. I make mine with onions, smokey gouda, and BBQ sauce instead of traditional ketchup.

I don’t know how to cook beans. I need to learn how to prepare and store. It sounds like this book would teach me everything I need to know.

I put washed dry pinto beans in a crock pot covered with water. Then I add a chunk of salt pork and maybe a ham bone. The beans will cook all day and be delishious, but if you wait to serve them the next day they are outstanding.
