George and Harold (the co-stars of the enormously popular Captain Underpants series) are in big trouble again! Their mean principal, Mr. Krupp, has had it with their comic books. But the boys aren’t giving up, and they decide to create an all-new epic novel about a subject they’ve never tackled before!

Dr. Dilbert Dinkle started his career as an ordinary, everyday evil genius/inventor/bank robber. But when he awakens one day transformed into a walking, talking puddle of pee, he vows to destroy every toilet in town. Will the devious Dr. Dinkle and his conniving cat, Petey, ruin restrooms for the rest of us? Or could this be a job for the death-defying, dynamic duo of Super Diaper Baby and Diaper Dog?

My two oldest boys are huge fans of the Captain Underpants series, so I was excited to see how they would respond to the Super Diaper Baby series. I’m happy to report that they absolutely loved it. Both of them sped through the two books in under a day, and while I may not be as easily amused by the “potty humor” used throughout the book, they got a huge kick out of it. I’m just thrilled to see them reading over the summer, and I’m all for a series that encourages this.

    My son loves captain underpants. It’s funny to hear him laughing to himself while he’s reading. Or when he runs up to me and says “mom, mom you gotta read this”. I don’t know that I had a favorite series as a child but cloudy with a chance of meatballs was one of my favs.

    About a year ago, I was drawn to a book called The Frog Princess by E.D. Baker and found myself reading the series (at the ripe old age of 36). Shared the book with my son and nieces too. :)

    My 6 year old twins love the Beezus and Ramona series. We have read all the books are bedtime chapter books and they are no re-reading the books by themselves. The also have read 3 Captain Underpants books and LOVE them!

    My all time favorite children’s books were the Nancy Drew series..I would eat them up as a kid..and now many moons later, my own daughter has the same love for them as I once did. I still can’t resist a good mystery!

    Geronimo Stilton series is what my daughter likes to read. My son doesn’t like to read, even though he has to … :)

    When I was a kid I loved the goosebump books by R.L. Stine. My son is too little to read on his own, but I started reading him the Percy Jackson series at bedtime.

    I subscribe to your blog and I like you in facebook! Love all the savings you post. My fav books when I was young were The Babysitters Club series and the Secret Garden. my kindergardner just discovered and loves Captin underpants! So happy he is reading.

    My kids love all sorts of books depending on their ages: Magic treehouse, Bailey kids, rangers apprentice, harry potter, sisters grimm, etc.

    I love the Percy Jackson series.. However my son loves the Captain Underpants series. Big difference but whatever gets him to read;) LOL
