My four-year-old daughter took one look at the sparkly and colorful cover of Shoe-La-La! and proclaimed that we must sit down and read it immediately — we’ve now read it 462 times in the past two days…

Well, maybe that’s exaggerating a little, but she adored it from the start, and she’s probably asked me to read it at least that many times! That said, it really is a great children’s book, and I love that it inspires kids to get creative and think outside of the box.

Meet four girls who love shoes: SHOE-LA-LA!

“Shoes with zippers, Shoes with straps, Shoes with buckles, Shoes with taps”.

Prance from page to page in search of the perfect pair of party shoes. Girls of all ages will love to go on a shoe shopping expedition with these four friends, from “fuzzy boots for when it snows” to “ballerinas on our toes.” The girls try on every shoe in the store, but “eeny, meeny, my, oh, my [they] just don’t know which shoes to buy.” With some feathers and glitter, a little bit of glue, and a LOT of imagination, the girls come up with the best shoes of all!

    My favorite pair of shoes look like I need to give them up! (5yr old pair on black leather work shoes, so comfy, but not so pretty)

    My favorite pair of shoes are brown Crocs. I have owned them for five years, and unfortunately, Crocs discontinued this style, Celeste. As a result, I gotta wear out this pair. On rainy days, I can slide in my school hallways due to the wear on the soles. It will be a sad, sad day when they finally fall apart or I finally fall on my face. I subscribe via e-mail and Facebook, and as a teacher, I subscribe to Scholastic. Lovee DSM!!!

    My favorite pair of shoes are a pair of red pumps. They are flirty and have a low heel and simple strap. I loved them so much that i bought purses and a cell phone to match the color!

    I’m a Florida gal and my favorite shoes are flip flops. Love them. Black columbia flip flops. Nothing fancy.

    My favorite pair of shoes is an old pair of tan loafers made by Elle. They went with everything! But they’re showing their age and I can’t find them anywhere. Wah!

    My fav pair of shoes are my Adidas gym shoes. Not too fancy but they are my fav b/c I hardly ever get to wear them. They are silver, hot pink and white.

    My favorite shoes these days are my Sketchers mules. But my favorite dressy shoe is a pair of gray suede & textured pumps from Aerosoles.
