Sometimes practical gifts are the very best — you know, those items that you’ve had for years and have really started to take for granted. They get the job done, even if you have to do a little extra to get it done right.
My husband’s electric shaver was one of those items. I’d estimate it was going on at least 6 years old, and it still did a fairly decent job shaving his face daily, although he often had to go back over areas with a disposable razor, especially in the neck area.
So when Norelco offered to send me their Philips Norelco Shaver 8800, I figured it would be a great surprise for him! I didn’t tell my husband it was coming and simply switched the old shaver out for this new one and waited to get his reaction…
It’s safe to say that he loves it! Some of his comments include, “Wow, my skin is so smooth. It really follows the curves of your face,” and “The charge lasts so much longer than my old razor!”
Other cool features of the Philips Norelco Shaver 8800 include:
- Sleek masculine zinc liquid metal frame
- Use dry or in the shower with shaving cream or gel
- Full numeric display to show minutes remaining
- Provides 60 minutes, or approximately 20 days of shaving time
- Luxury pouch
The Philips Norelco Shaver 8800 would make a fabulous Father’s Day gift!

Clothing, in general, for my husband; he never buys clothing, even when the item is threadbare.

OMG. Don’t get me started on my husband’s decrepit wallet. I bought him a new one when we were dating in 2006 and he still has yet to start using it…

My husband’s closet is a land of things that have outlived their purpose. We actually have spoken recently about parting with some worn out clothes and he’s adjusting to the idea. :-)
