Sometimes practical gifts are the very best — you know, those items that you’ve had for years and have really started to take for granted. They get the job done, even if you have to do a little extra to get it done right.

My husband’s electric shaver was one of those items. I’d estimate it was going on at least 6 years old, and it still did a fairly decent job shaving his face daily, although he often had to go back over areas with a disposable razor, especially in the neck area.

So when Norelco offered to send me their Philips Norelco Shaver 8800, I figured it would be a great surprise for him! I didn’t tell my husband it was coming and simply switched the old shaver out for this new one and waited to get his reaction…

    My husband’s closet is a land of things that have outlived their purpose. We actually have spoken recently about parting with some worn out clothes and he’s adjusting to the idea. :-)
