I’ve been teaching my little builder, my grandson, to love music by singing when I rock him. He’s 18 months old and loves to be sung to. At times he almost hums along with me. I’ve always had music in my life and I want to build that foundation for him

We use items around the house for instruments. Paper rolls filled with rice and dried beans and closed with paper and glue make maracas, pots and cereal boxes for drums, things like that!

we make up songs. Before riding in the car and we see something… We make up songs about the weather, traffic, people we see. Music should be heard everywhere! It puts on a whole new atmosphere in the car or wherever we are when there is music playing. We love music. I’ve even been known to sing one of their story books to them instead of reading it to them. They love it!

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
